“This morning I was with the vice president,” Bush joked. “I was asking him what costume he was planning. He said, ‘Well I’m already wearing it,’ and then he mumbled something about the dark side of the force.”

This from the Wall Street Journal Online:
[Vice President Dick Cheney] displayed a flash of humor in acknowledging that his imperious manner has earned him the nickname “Darth Vader” in some quarters. “I’ve been asked if that nickname bothers me, and the answer is, no,” he said. “After all, Darth Vader is one of the nicer things I’ve been called recently.”
Lynne Cheney, the wife of Vice President Dick Cheney, appeared on “The Daily Show,” Oct. 10. to talk about her new memoir, Blue Sky, No Fences and about life in the White House. But before the interview got started, she brought with her a special gift for host Jon Stewart — a Darth Vader doll.
“It’s a special present for you…it’s an old family heirloom,” Cheney laughs.
“Is there a microphone in it?” Stewart jokes.
“No, but it’s signed on the bottom…” Cheney says.
“Is that true?” Stewart asks.
“… in invisible ink,” Cheney continues.
“It’s lovely, thank you very much,” Stewart says. “I’ll keep that….”
“As a nice reminder,” Cheney answers.
“Yes!” Stewart laughs.
