Rebels and Imperials converged on Gotham earlier this month for the New York Comic Con at the West Side’s Javits Center. The convergence from both Core World and Outer Rim gave evidence of the ever-expanding Star Wars universe as we continue moving into the new century and another generation.

With Asajj Ventress returning to The Clone Wars tonight, we thought we’d dust off and update this collectibles story from last year about the galaxy’s deadliest (and sultriest) Sith assassin…
With Ventress’s first televised appearance taking place on November 14, 2003 during an episode of the original Clone Wars animated micro-series, the character’s look and story have evolved considerably, culminating in some shocking events we’ll witness in tonight’s episode, “Massacre.”
Since her debut over eight years ago, there’s been quite the coven of Ventress collectibles produced, from her early appearance on the 2003 series posters to the many turns she’s had as a Hasbro action figure. For the intrepid Asajj aficionado, we’ve compiled a year-by-year list of all the Ventress collectibles our dark side sources could uncover:
Late 2003 saw images of Clone Wars villainess Asajj Ventress used on the promotional poster and brochure for the series, as well as two action figures: one based on her animated appearance, and the other interpreted by Hasbro sculptors in a more “real-world” guise.
For the original series’ second season debut in April, 2004, Ventress again appeared on the promotional poster, sold exclusively at StarWarsShop along with a postcard and pin set offered there as well. Acme Archives offered a limited sericel of Asajj vs. Anakin, while Wizards of the Coast served up the first gaming miniature of Dooku’s assassin. Gentle Giant’s stunning maquette of the animated Asajj is highly coveted by collectors of the original series.
Hallmark sends a heads-up that they’ve got a new Star Wars first available in stores and as a mini e-card — a Darth Vader Thanksgiving greeting!
The image above shows the cover of the card available in stores, which includes a sound chip that plays “The Imperial March” when opened (and also reveals an image of the Death Star with the quote “Who Wants Dark Meat?”).
The Vader Carver image can also be sent as a mini e-card, available here.
Hallmark Gold Crown Stores has its annual Keepsake Ornament Debut event this weekend, Oct 8 & 9, which will include the launch of the highly anticipated LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader ornament.

For those making it to New York Comic-Con October 13-16 this year, an exclusive two pack of astromech droids featuring R2-Q5 and R2-A3 will be sold in limited quantities while supplies last at their booth #110 (see our previous announcement here).
Hallmark will continue its 2011 celebration of the Star Wars saga with a Hallmark Keepsake Ornament two-pack to be sold exclusively this fall at New York Comic Con, October 13-16.
The astromech droids R2-Q5 and R2-A3 will be featured as Keepsake Ornaments sold together during the popular culture convention, scheduled October 13-16 at the Javits Center in New York City.
You’ll recall the black and bronze-bodied R2-Q5 being assigned to the second Death Star as the red-trimmed R2-A3 flew along with X-wing pilot Wedge Antilles. This special-edition Keepsake Ornament two-pack was created specifically for the event with a limited production of 800.
Visitors to the Hallmark booth will receive a series of collectible buttons featuring quotes from the 2012 line of Star Wars gifts, which will be available exclusively at Hallmark Gold Crown stores. A different design in the series will be given away in limited quantities on each day of the convention.
Other activities include visits from Star Wars characters courtesy of the 501st Legion, a sneak peek of Hallmark’s Star Wars products planned for 2012 and fun giveaways. If you are attending New York Comic Con this year, be sure to drop by Hallmark at Booth 110 within the dynamic Star Wars Pavillion to catch all the action.
If you had any doubts that R2-D2 and Han Solo are the coolest characters in Star Wars before, Kotobukiya has a product that finally proves it with these ice and chocolate mold silicone trays.
In their booth in the Star Wars Pavilion at Comic-Con 2011 in San Diego, CA, fans can see Han in Ice and R2-D2 on the rocks with this fun display.
Her Universe is also back in full “Force” at this year’s Comic-Con, showing off their latest geek girl Star Wars fashions. Ashley Eckstein also tells us that they have new clothes and accessories for awesome SyFy shows like Warehouse 13 and Battlestar Galactica for those fans who like to mix up their sci-fi.
If you have a Boba Fett-ish, then Her Universe has the clothes for you!
Another hit in the Star Wars Pavilion are the new holiday ornaments from Hallmark! Darth Maul never looked more festive!
