The Empire Strikes Back Uncut: Video Game Re-creations
I love Star Wars video games.
Growing up, I played all the Super Nintendo games and a laundry list of others. I think my favorites are Super Star Wars, Star Wars: Dark Forces, and Star Wars Galaxies…which I played for three months straight, earning galaxy currency as an interior decorator (best job I’ve ever had). I loved playing the games because you were immediately able to enter the Star Wars universe. Plus, the John Williams soundtrack accompanied almost every game, so everything felt extra-epic.
It feels very appropriate that many fans are similarly inspired by video game styles for The Empire Strikes Back Uncut. Check out some of our favorite gamer mashups of Empire scenes submitted by Uncut contributors from around the world.

The Empire Strikes Back Uncut: Illustrating the Empire
As scenes for The Empire Strikes Back Uncut continue to fill our inboxes, we see all kinds of awesome live-action remakes. Adolescent Lukes, cat Yodas, and all kinds of cool handmade sets.
Speaking of handmade, some of the fans really thinking outside the box are the ones who have started from a blank page, pen in hand. The sky’s the limit when you’re drawing your own Hoth or Artoo, and these illustrated scenes bring all kinds of imagination to the Star Wars Uncut project.

The Empire Strikes Back Uncut: The Jedi Kids Are Alright
We love getting new scene submissions for The Empire Strikes Back Uncut, because we know every re-creation is going to bring together a whole different cast of props, costumes, effects, and characters. And boy do we get characters.
Some of our favorite performances are from the youngest Jedi who are filling big, adult-sized acting shoes. Or even Artoo-sized shoes. And many kids are even getting behind the camera or taking on other roles in the production process.

Star Wars fans love to eat. Or, at least it looks like it, according to all these pizza slices, green pea piles, and whipped dessert toppings found in the scenes submitted for The Empire Strikes Back Uncut.
The Empire Strikes Back’s many planets give fans ample reason to dig into their scene-setting skills: Hoth, Cloud City, that pesky space slug. As more people are re-imagining scenes for The Empire Strikes Back Uncut, it’s pretty clear that a lot of people paint in a palette of awesome-looking food groups.

The Empire Strikes Back Uncut: Jedi Pets in Space
Scenes for The Empire Strikes Back Uncut are still rolling in and they are full of vegetables, minerals, and many animals.
One of the best parts of watching each new scene is seeing how fans bring their own personal touches in the creative process. And nothing’s more personal than pets. Man’s best friend(s) pop up in the best places: as a floppy eared Yoda, a downed Tauntaun, or the classic Chewbacca stand-in.
But it’s not just Chewie dogs acting in Empire Uncut — there are many scenes featuring different members of the animal kingdom. Here are some great performances so far.

The Empire Strikes Back Uncut : Many Different Dagobahs
I grew up on Dagobah. Or, the next best thing: Florida. Our Jedi training was slightly different (we paddled boats instead of lifting X-wings) and we had no Yodas to guide us (manatees aren’t good instructors), but we did have an awesome swamp for a backyard.
Which is why it’s so awesome to see fans remake the classic Dagobah scenes. Users are hard at work on The Empire Strikes Back Uncut right now (psst, there’s still time to sign up and claim a scene).

The Star Wars Uncut Saga Continues…
In 2009, we started Star Wars Uncut with little more than a big dream of getting fans involved in the Star Wars story. Turns out that dream got a lot of people excited. We had thousands of participants—young, old, animated, and furry. It was a lot of learning on the fly, as we figured out how to bring the new concept to life alongside our awesome contributors. A New Hope Uncut was born out of our collective labor of love and the best part was seeing what we could all do together.
