How to Make a Snow AT-AT!

Bonnie Burton | February 28, 2011

So you have a lot of snow and you’d like to recreate one of the coolest battles in the Star Wars films? Get your mittens on and start packing snow into an AT-AT worthy of Hoth!

Miguel Valenzuela writes:

My daughter sitting on top of an AT-AT Snow Sculpture. It’s about 4 feet tall (1.2 meters). I know the main canons are a bit big but anything smaller just wasn’t holding or showing up. I built it over a period of two days. About 3 hours the first day then one hour the second day. By leaving it overnight it helped freeze the top layer making it stronger.

Yoda Christmas Cake

Bonnie Burton | December 20, 2010

Check out this awesome Force-tastic Star Wars Christmas cake made by Tara from Cloud Nine Confections in North Vancouver, BC.

My favorite thing about this cake is Yoda. In Star Wars, Yoda is always shown as being very old. I love the image of Yoda as a kid, standing by his Christmas Tree, waiting impatiently for Santa Claus. I almost feel sorry for Santa! He better give Yoda everything he asked for or Yoda has a present (aka his lightsaber) ready for Santa.

If you’re hanging out on Twitter, and do a search using the hashtag #StarWarsXmas, you find out quickly how many fans are decorating during the holidays using Star Wars as a muse.

We’ll be posting throughout the month, some of our favorite Star Wars Christmas trees, festive cookies, nativity sets, outdoor lights, snowmen and more.

Here’s one of our faves:

Star Wars fan W.H Steels shows off his love for Jabba by making him a lucky stand-in for Joseph in this holiday nativity scene.

Years ago I bought a Nativity Set From a discount club! But it never came with a Joseph, so every year I have to go through my toys to find a stand in!
