I must say, when I was in the third grade, sitting cross-legged watching Episode IV on VHS, I never would’ve imagined that I would one day be making something even remotely connected to the Star Wars universe. When Colin and I discovered the opportunity to make a Pringles/Star Wars tie-in commercial, we jumped at the chance to make our own. Like, for real, we both jumped simultaneously and high-fived. I wish someone could’ve freeze-framed us. Seriously though, we’ve been frequent contributors to the crowdsourcing video contest community, but choosing this project was an obvious no-brainer.
Fully Operational Fandom: Mom, I Just Called to Say “I Know”
I’m sure there are holidays on every planet. Heck, even the Wookiees have Life Day. And wherever there are mothers, I’m positive there’s a Mother’s Day. From Coruscant to Tatooine, moms are being woken for a special day when their kids make them homemade cards and serve them blue milk and bantha breakfast steaks in bed. In our world Mother’s Day is just a few days away. Let this be your reminder.
Plenty of lucky kids out there have moms who love Star Wars. I caught up with a few of these ladies to discuss how they’ve shared their passion for the saga with their children.

Chronicling The Clone Wars #10
Cut Lawquane: Clone. Farmer. Family Man. And Mandalorians!

“The Deserter” (S210)
While searching for General Grievous on Saleucami, Rex meets a clone deserter.
- We arrive on the surface of Saleucami, mentioned but not seen in “Grievous Intrigue” (S209).
- This episode introduces Hardcase, Jesse, and Kix, clone troopers serving under Captain Rex in the 501st. They will have more prominent roles later in the series.
- Cut Lawquane is just another example of a clone trooper expressing individuality. We first saw it in Season One with Slick being a traitor fighting for freedom for the clones.
- As an expression of his own individuality, Captain Rex ultimately decides not to turn in Cut as a deserter.
- Cut and Rex play dejarik, the holographic chess game seen in A New Hope.
Mark Hamill Reflects on Star Wars at the Egyptian Theatre

In his portrayal of Luke Skywalker, Mark Hamill encapsulated everything that Star Wars was meant to be and is. He brought an adventurous energy, a good spirit, and a sense of emotional growth to the role — traits that were essential to conveying the story’s themes and to making Luke an iconic hero.
At Saturday’s thirtieth anniversary celebration of Return of the Jedi at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood — part of Entertainment Weekly’s CapeTown Film Fest — Hamill made a surprise appearance after the 6:00 p.m. screening of the film. When EW writer and host Anthony Breznican asked if anyone could do a good Luke Skywalker impression, Hamill emerged, making a dramatic entrance that could rival Luke’s own “I’m with you, too!” moment from Jedi. He took part in two Q&As, discussing some specifics on Return of the Jedi and the exciting future of Star Wars.
Between Q&As, Hamill spoke to StarWars.com about what the entire saga was like for him as an actor, and the different challenges he faced in making a space fantasy believable. As it turns out, Hamill’s prior experience helped prepare him.
Star Wars Lucha Libre Masks

It’s Cinco de Mayo, but it’s also the day after May the 4th. You may still be feeling the need to celebrate Star Wars today, but don’t know how. Fear not; there is a way to make Cinco de Mayo strong with the Force.
Ever wonder what it would be like to see a tag-team wrestling match with Darth Vader and Darth Maul against Boba Fett and General Grievous? We do too, and better yet, they should be wearing Lucha Libre (Mexican wrestling) masks!
Lucha Libre masks hold special meaning for the luchadores who wear them. The masks represent animals, legendary heroes and ancient gods. The luchador never reveals his true identity by taking off his mask or he could be disqualified from a match. Even when luchadores retire, they often still wear their masks in public.
Here’s what we think Star Wars luchadores masks should look like, illustrated by Star Wars artist Randy Martinez. Print them out and wear them for fun!

May the 4th Return of the Jedi Revival at the Egyptian Theatre
Thirty years ago this month, Return of the Jedi made its debut at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. It seems only fitting then that on May the 4th, a.k.a. Star Wars Day, fans have been celebrating the beloved film’s landmark anniversary at the very same place it was first seen by an audience. As Darth Vader once said, “The circle is now complete.”
