The Star Wars I Know

Brian Wood | January 9, 2013

19812

When I was approached for this job, I took a couple of minutes to think about what Star Wars meant to me, in order to determine if I had anything to bring to the table. I saw Star Wars in the theater; an odd decision for my mother, who tended to err on the side of caution when exposing her five-year-old to the mass media. I, of course, got a bunch of Star Wars toys, collected full sets of playing cards, and reenacted Hoth battle scenes in the snowy woods of Vermont. I was hooked, like everyone was. I realized that for the last 35 years of my life, Star Wars has been there in the background of my mind, in deep storage, waiting for something.

Hang On to Your Helmet — The Holidays Are Over!

Mary Franklin | January 8, 2013

cvi

For roughly the past month it’s been the same:

  • “We can rethink that floorplan after the holidays.”
  • “I can have the answers you need after the holidays.”
  • “We’ll send those links after the holidays.”
  • “After the holidays we’ll be ready to revisit this.”
  • “The document will be completed for you after the holidays.”
  • Etc. etc. etc. “after the holidays.”

Honestly, it’s a good tradition that people in the world disconnect and focus on something other than work for a few weeks each winter. Family, friends, travel, avoiding cliffs, a few good books and movies — whatever it is that refuels us, it’s probably healthy for humankind.

Creating a Puzzle with Scoundrels

Timothy Zahn | January 8, 2013

scoundrels

I’ve never been very good at jigsaw puzzles.

It’s a skill I’ve just been unable to master. I can’t see where a given piece fits into the picture on the box; sky and cloud pieces completely baffle me; and the red blob that has to be on the piece I’m looking for (because it extends from the red blob on this piece) is always smaller and more inconspicuous than I expect it to be. Generally, once any pieces with words had been connected (I’m pretty good with the word pieces), my job at family jigsaw parties was cheerleading for the others and making sure there were plenty of snacks.

But I do like jigsaw puzzles. So if I can’t put them together, maybe I could try creating one.

How do I start?

Chronicling The Clone Wars #6

Blue Shadow Virus unleashed!  The Battle of Ryloth!

ACW_IA_28720

“Mystery of a Thousand Moons” (S118)

The fatal Blue Shadow Virus is released, infecting Ahsoka, Padmé and many clone troopers. Anakin and Obi-Wan must race against time to find the antidote.

Much of the action in this episode takes place on Iego, a planet mentioned in The Phantom Menace. We even see one of the Angels that young Anakin describes in the film. This is the first time we see reprogrammed battled droids in the series, though we’ll see repurposed battle droids notably in Seasons Three and Four.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars — 100 Episodes; My Photo Album

Ashley Eckstein | January 4, 2013

As an actress, you get used to change, and attachments are never easy to form because you are constantly going from job to job. However, as I sit here writing about The Clone Wars reaching 100 episodes, I feel so blessed to have spent the past 7 years of my life working on the same show with the same cast and crew. They have become my family and, it’s too late, I’ve definitely become attached. I have so many amazing memories from the past several years and as I look back, I wanted to share some of my favorite photos with you!

I'll begin with this photo because this is where it all started! After two years of working on the show, we finally got to share our secret project with the world! We had no idea, the ride that we were about to go on. This photo is also very dear to me because I am right next to Ian Abercrombie. I feel so blessed to have worked with such an amazing man.

Star Wars Weekends 2013 Dates Announced

Gary Buchanan | December 27, 2012

“Luke, We’re gonna have company!” — Han Solo

If your starship can make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs (I’m still trying to figure out how fast that is), set your hyperdrive for the Disney’s Hollywood Studios sector for May and early June, for the 2013 edition of Star Wars Weekends.

This year’s Force-filled fun will take place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from May 17-June 9.

James Arnold Taylor and Ashley Eckstein share a laugh on-stage at Star Wars Weekends 2012. The pair will return as Celebrity Hosts in 2013.
