Darth Vader Gift on “The Daily Show”

October 11, 2007

Lynne Cheney, the wife of Vice President Dick Cheney, appeared on “The Daily Show,” Oct. 10. to talk about her new memoir, Blue Sky, No Fences and about life in the White House. But before the interview got started, she brought with her a special gift for host Jon Stewart — a Darth Vader doll.

“It’s a special present for you…it’s an old family heirloom,” Cheney laughs.
“Is there a microphone in it?” Stewart jokes.
“No, but it’s signed on the bottom…” Cheney says.
“Is that true?” Stewart asks.
“… in invisible ink,” Cheney continues.
“It’s lovely, thank you very much,” Stewart says. “I’ll keep that….”
“As a nice reminder,” Cheney answers.
“Yes!” Stewart laughs.
