Clone Trooper Latte?

April 21, 2009

Check out this billboard for McDonald’s new specialty coffee drinks, which include the McCafe Latte. Maybe we just have Star Wars on the brain too much, but we can’t be the only ones who see a clone trooper helmet in the foam, can we?

I’m lovin’ it!

Yummy Yoda Cupcakes

April 13, 2009

Check out these cute and tasty Yoda cupcakes made by crafty LJ fan braeby:

Here are some Yoda cupcakes that I made for my friends a couple of weeks ago. They’re chocolate with vanilla icing, with green food coloring. The ears I made out of chocolate mint wafers cut in half and stuck them in as far as I could before icing them. Delicious, they were hmmm…

Obi-Wan Kenobi Cake

February 26, 2009

Check out this delicious Obi-Wan Kenobi atop this fondant-covered Star Wars cake of vanilla sponge, vanilla buttercream, and strawberry jam made by Natasha.

The cake was for a little boy called Harry, for his 6th birthday. He is a massive Star Wars fan. I get nervous doing cakes like these because I know how geeky boys and men can get. I did a Yoda cake first and my husbands comment was “If he held his lightsaber like that it would cut off his hands!” But Harry was delighted.

Vader Cake: It’s a Girl!

February 2, 2009

Darth Vader may have been the worst dad in the galaxy, but that doesn’t mean he’s above helping you celebrate the birth of your baby daughter.

One Star Wars fan decided to add a little Sith sentiment to this delightful (or scary) baby shower cake. Impressive use of non-canon planets and festive sprinkles!

Star Wars Mini-Golf Cake

January 21, 2009

Why make a typical birthday cake when you can make a Star Wars miniature golf cake? According to cake artisan Kellye:

It may surprise you to hear that the cake was actually a birthday cake for a pretty cool 4-year-old little girl. She’s really into Star Wars. The cake itself is strawberry per her request. The grass and stream are buttercream and the walkway and putting greens are fondant. Everything else is inedible. The golf clubs are toothpicks or kabob sticks (depending on the character’s hand size) with a little carved piece of marshmallow on the end.

Yummy Yoda Cake, Bake You Must

December 10, 2008

It’s amazing what you can make with Rice Krispies treats, chocolate and fondant. Debbie Goard of San Francisco’s Debbie Does Cakes made this magnificent Yoda cake with those ingredients and more.

Yoda’s head was made from rice krispies treats, modelling chocolate and fondant. I made the head a few days in advance. Just doesn’t feel right if I don’t have a disemboweled head staring at me throughout the week, lol! The body was made up of Rich strawberry cake with a Bavarian custard filling. The body was then covered in fondant and airbrushed.

Dark Side of the Vader Toast

November 6, 2008

words: Bonnie Burton

If there’s something every Sith Lord knows how to do it’s make a balanced breakfast. While the Jedi have to live off of Jawa juice and fried nerfsteak, the Dark Lord of the Sith prefers to have a reminder of his fiery Mustafar defeat at his breakfast table. Every morning he burns that moment into a slice of bread with the Darth Vader Toaster. This black, ominous kitchen appliance easily leaves the mark of Vader’s helmet in every yummy piece of toast. Force power not required to operate toaster.

DARK SIDE OF THE TOAST

  • White bread
  • Nutella

Going to the dark side never tasted better thanks to the hazelnut spread Nutella.
Toast your bread slice and slather on the Sithy darkness.

DIY Yoda Pumpkin

October 17, 2008

words: Bonnie Burton

Star Wars fan and mother Mindy Scott got into the Halloween spirit and made this festive pumpkin to surprise her kids with a one-of-a-kind tribute. Starwars.com chats with her to find out how she made this awesome Yoda Holiday Pumpkin.

Why did you decide to make a Yoda Holiday Pumpkin?

I decided to do Yoda because my boys, Benjamin (5) and Matthew (3), are extreme fans of Star Wars. My son, Matthew, hums the theme to Star Wars at least three times a day. They are dressing up like Obi-Wan and the orange clone trooper for our Fall Festival. I wanted to surprise them with a pumpkin that stayed in theme with their costumes. They were so excited when they woke up and saw Yoda, they wanted to fight him with their lightsabers.
