A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to tag along with Course of the Force during its epic journey from Santa Monica to San Diego — which conveniently took a quick detour through LEGOLAND California. While we were at the park we couldn’t help but shoot some pictures of the awesome LEGO Star Wars Miniland, a whole area devoted to LEGO recreations of iconic scenes and characters from the Star Wars universe.

THE CLONE WARS SEASON 5 SNEAK PEEKS
The Clone Wars panel at San Diego Comic-Con International revealed two previews of major events unfolding in the show’s fifth season: the return of Darth Maul and the Mandalorean Death Watch to the Star Wars galaxy! Check out the Darth Maul clip here and the Death Watch sequence here.

COMIC-CON HIGHLIGHTS
Star Wars had a major presence at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con International, with panels showcasing new and upcoming collectibles from Sideshow, eFX, Kotobukiya, and Hasbro. There were also previews of upcoming books, the fifth season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and a bunch of on-scene coverage reported right here in the official blog! Be sure to also check out our slideshow coverage of the many Star Wars-related sights witnessed at this years Comic-Con.

STAR WARS READS DAY
Star Wars book publishers will be staging events in bookstores and libraries across the US on October 6, 2012, an occasion that promises raffle prizes, promotional giveaways and more! For more information (including volunteer costumer sign-ups), check out our Star Wars Reads Day announcement!

CELEBRATION VI UPDATES
In addition to revealing the final set of Celebration VI artwork prints, another collector-interest announcement also broke this week: The Rancho Obi-Wan Experience — a collection of items from the world’s largest Star Wars collectibles museum — will be appearing at Celebration VI! Also, today (July 20) at 11:59PM (ET) is the last chance for fans to purchase Celebration tickets and receive them in the mail. Get your tickets now!

Win a Life-size Darth Maul!

If you’re a European Star Wars fan, this strikingly realistic statue of Darth Maul might look familiar – 15 of these bad boys were produced by Hasbro along with Lucasfilm and Studio Oxmox last fall to help promote the 3D release of Episode I earlier this year.

COMIC-CON BEGINS!
Star Wars Day at San Diego Comic-Con International officially kicked off today, with several Star Wars panels planned throughout the weekend and many product exclusives and debuts being served up as well. Be sure to tune in to all the ongoing coverage happening here on the Official Star Wars Blog!

COURSE OF THE FORCE
The first lightsaber relay stretching five days and several miles between Santa Monica and San Diego in California wrapped up on Wednesday, with day-to-day coverage logged here on the Official Star Wars Blog as well as entries by Ashley Eckstein, Alison Haislip, Alex Albrecht, Chris Hardwick, Katie Linendoll, and others! Also, be sure and catch the video short “A Lightsaber’s Journey to Comic-Con.”

CELEBRATION VI UPDATES
Amid this busy week of Course of the Force and Comic-Con news, the Celebration VI news continued to come in with the fourth Celebration artwork print reveal and an announcement that Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) will be on stage and meeting fans! Now’s a great time to get your tickets for the can’t-miss August 23-26, 2012 event!

MORE TO EXPLORE
New entries to the Official Encyclopedia include the massive lumbering Jawa sandcrawler, the heavily-armed Republic attack shuttle, the nimble, tow-cable toting snowspeeder, Vader’s intimidating Super Star Destroyer, and the dependable Republic frigate fitted out for diplomatic missions across the galaxy.

SDCC 2012: What’s Next From Hasbro?

Hasbro & Star Wars - ComicCon 2012

Collectors of Hasbro’s Star Wars toy lines got a sneak peek of what new characters, vehicles, exclusives and more are coming soon to a toy shelf near you! The update includes a preview of the expanding series of Fighter Pods as well as the return of the “Build a Droid” pack-in promotion for 2013, allowing collectors to piece together droids from unique parts included with each action figure. The final slide in the presentation also reveals Hasbro’s 2012 San Diego Comic-Con International exclusive!

SDCC 2012: Star Wars Collectibles Panel

Kotobukiya 2012

Star Wars Day kicked off this morning at San Diego Comic-Con International with a Star Wars Collectibles Update panel showcasing new and upcoming releases by eFX, Gentle Giant Studios, Kotobukiya, and Sideshow Collectibles.

Moderated by Lucas Licensing’s Chris Spitale, the previews include sneak peeks at eFX’s new Darth Maul lightsaber and biker scout helmet, Kotobukiya’s new light-up lightsaber chopsticks and Star Wars Bishoujo statue line, and Sideshow’s upcoming sixth-scale figures and new Mythos series!
