On August 24, 2012 at Star Wars Celebration VI, fans witnessed the premiere screening of the Ralph McQuarrie Retrospective. Now, take an exclusive look at the first 4 minutes of the film.
Random House Audio, publisher of the Star Wars audiobooks, has set up a recording studio right on the convention floor for Star Wars Celebration VI this week, inviting fans to come by their booth and record excerpts from Timothy Zahn’s HEIR TO THE EMPIRE. A sushi chef from Japan, Okitsugu Kado, is also well known for his talent in vegetable carving. Oki started creating intricate Star Wars vegetable pieces after making his very first simple R2-D2. His vast amount of talent and love for his art got him on the cover of the UK edition of National Geographic with his very own Darth Vader carrot carving. Oki’s love of Star Wars goes far beyond vegetables. He is a part of the Jedi Order Japan, which now has 70 members, and took part in Star Wars Celebration Japan.

Unlike most cons that use the same boring badge design with minor color variations for every type of attendee, Star Wars Celebration is known for its badge collections, with over 15 badges — each with an artist’s fresh take on classic characters.
To fit Celebration VI’s “Join the Party” theme, artists Chris Trevas and Brian Rood came up with 19 new character designs featuring famous faces from a galaxy far, far away celebrating Celebration. Click through to see them all, from a moustachioed Droid general to a balloon wielding bounty hunter!
