So lets get this straight. If Colin Higgins wouldn’t have screwed up, he would have been Wedge. If he was Wedge, then Denis Lawson would never have been Wedge. If Denis Lawson wouldn’t have been Wedge, then he wouldn’t have inspired his young nephew Ewan McGregor to become an actor. If Ewan McGregor wouldn’t have become an actor, then he wouldn’t have played Obi-Wan Kenobi. Thats like 6 degrees of Colin Higgins! Thank you for screwing up and getting fired Colin, for you changed the history of Star Wars lore forever!

Could you confirm who voiced Wedge in TESB & ROTJ please ? I’ve always wondered, and when I first heard that someone else had dubbed for ANH I was surprised – I had always thought it was Denis doing his typically great english accent. Did Denis act & speak for the remaining episodes ?

“I’ll tell you my story. I was originally cast as Wedge. I screwed it up, and I got fired — that is the true story. Every actor sometimes gets fired if they screw it up and mine just happened to be on Star Wars!”

Amazing detective work, Pablo ! Fascinating ! And good question, “Whills Journal”…. presumably, bit-part actors aren’t always around when you need them ? And in this cadse, one Denis Lawson stepped up to fill the pilot’s helmet ?? Pablo, can you shed any further light please ???

And to think I was an avid BLAKES 7 watcher back in the day…. Sigh.

Awesome story! I always wondered what happened to that guy. Was there ever an explanation why this same actor didn’t end up as the “helmeted” Wedge that Denis Lawson played?
