This is such a wonderful story. I've only recently come across the 501st and was lucky enough to go to a "Join the Force" event on post where we are stationed (my husband is in the Army). Our kids had a blast!!! It was so fun for them to meet the characters and to think, it may not have happened at all. Thank you! You've made some young Star Wars fans VERY happy.

great stuff Sir!

you DO need to right a book on this you know: MANY people would buy it!

its great to read the earliest exploits of the Legion, even before it became the Legion - i was messing about in a local South Australian group called Parsec, only just getting back into costuming in a very general way, when a friend told me about a new world wide group that was also setting up shop in Oz and NZ.
id borrowed his Snowie suit several times for various events, but was normally see in Jedi robes with hair like QuiGonn because i lacked the funds to buy a Scout Trooper like i always wanted.

it wasnt untill EP2 was coming up, and a small financial window of opportunity opened up, i found someone in the US that had only just pressed out some Clone armor.
i bought two suits and quickly assembled one in time for some events, and couldnt believe the response!
comics and cartoons showed Clones to be more than just white, and recieved my Legion numbers after a fresh blue coat of painted strips for an early version of an ARC.

i thank you for your enormous tenacity in seeing your own early experiences through to bringing the 501st Legion to life!
- because of you, i am proud to now be in the position of building my second suit after 7 years service, the season4 version of Captain Rex, and get to give back to my community in such an unique manner

write that book, Alb!
