Terry, check out the 3 books on Darth Bane. Those are very important books about Sith history.

Then check out the recent Darth Plagueis book which doesn't reveal much about Plagueis but may provide some insight.

I personally would love to see a series created by Darkhorse depicting the whole back story of Darth Sidious. In reality all 6 films are his story. He set everything into motion long before the birth of Anakin Skywalker.I love the scene in episode 3 where Palpatine tells Anakin about the "The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise."Star Wars is mythology and the struggle between the Sith and Jedi are absolutely essential in any Star Wars universe, regardless of the time frame.George never fully explained the origin of the Sith or the Jedi.He merely presented them.So I would love to see a well thought out saga (preferably on film)bringing to light the shadowy history of the Sith in regards to Darth Plagueis and his apprentice Darth Sidious.
