Good news! I’ve selected the Clone Wars season 5 clips that will be shown at Celebration VI – and I think you will be very pleased. To give you a small preview, take a look at this photo of me and Mattias (one of our editors) finalizing a scene. I had fourteen different clips pulled for consideration, but we narrowed it down to a final list. It may surprise you to know that getting these clips together is no simple task. Many come from episodes that are not yet finished, and still require sound design and final lighting shots before they are presentable. Never fear! Matthew Wood and David Accord will be working on the sound design to make sure you have the best possible experience watching these clips at Celebration.
Our composer Kevin Kiner is so busy getting the music done for upcoming episodes that I will substitute music from the Star Wars movies as a temporary place holder on the CVI clips. These temporary music selections will occasionally influence Kevin’s final composition. We will definitely be adding more classic themes as we move forward in the series.
Looking ahead, I’m about to start a locked reel review of a new Clone Wars episode. Here’s a photo of the group attending this particular review. This is where many members of my crew and I get together and watch a finished story reel. While the reel plays, I share my expectations for each shot, specifically in regards to the animation and lighting. I’ll also talk with the team about the level of set dressing and any special details that should be added. Things like leaves, garbage or material being blown around by the wind, for example. If it’s a city scene, we would look at the amount of traffic, adding more pedestrians, etc. These meetings also give the department leads a chance to get together and discuss the complexity of the episode and make sure the final product is up to our standards.
We’re really fortunate to have such an outstanding group of people working on The Clone Wars. Making the series isn’t easy and it requires a great deal of hard work and dedication from our staff. The crew of The Clone Wars works hard because we care. This is Star Wars and we want it to live up to your expectations. That’s something we always keep top of mind.

I am praying to Vader that is one of the DELTA Squad Commandos. We NEED at least an episode, if not an Arc (pun intended), about them.
BTW – if you know any of the video game guys, PLEASE feed them this idea: Battlefront 3 with the main story revolving around controlling Delta Squad. You get two sequels for the price of one!! … when we are L O N G overdue for sequels to both games
Maybe an episode with Omega Squad instead of Delta. Maybe even a Null ARC episode.
An RepCom 2 would be epic! I can see it now. But there was the game Star Wars Republic Commando: Order 66 available for the phone. That was in ‘05, though. :-/

Hey Dave, thank you very much for this series, and I am a huge fan of the Lux and Ahsoka pairing ever since you first hinted at it in season 3. Are we gonna see their relationship blossum this season. and is there gonna be a flashback scene that shows how Mina Bonteri died? Can’t wait.

Thanks for this and for all your hard work! With Netflix I have been catching up on The Clone Wars and am very impressed with how tight the shots are, the set looks, the colors fit, the graphics work, and the way it all looks by Season 3. Also, I am amazed that I actually am now a fan of this new Anakin character. Impressive, most impressive.

Wow!! I think that’s Sev from Republic Commando, if it is and you include the other members of Delta Squad would they have their original voices from the game or would Dee Bradley Baker voice them like the other clones? Anyway can’t wait to see what happens in season 5!!

I am a 14 year old fan of your show and would love nothing for it to go on for a while. It fleshes out a part of the universe that we have all loved ever since hearing about the Clone Wars in Episode IV. There are only two things you need to make it perfect; a Siri Tachi Scene (go Siriwan) and even more Plo Koon.

Outstanding. This is very encouraging to see as I was anticipating an RC arc in season four. The RC universe took a beating with a sharp continuity departure from Ms. Traviss’ hard work with a heavy political spin on Mandalore. I hope this will shore up some of the ill will. If anything, it will be great to see more than 15 seconds of the venerable RCs. Cheers mate and here is to hope!
this is not RC2, season 5 of star wars the clone wars will have commandos in it. look it up on IGN.
I just hope this season can bring the current Clone Wars up to par with the 2003 one. So far, that one was SOOOO much better than the previous seasons. And it actually had to do with the movies!
