Introducing… Jennifer Landa

Jennifer Landa | July 12, 2012

Editor’s Note: If you were at last year’s Comic-Con, or visited this blog last summer, you might recall our profile of Jennifer Landa, an actress, video blogger and life-long Star Wars fangirl who got a lot of attention for her hand-crafted Death Star Dress. She has also produced and appeared in several Star Wars web videos, including the Star Wars Blu-Ray Rap. Now, as this year’s Comic-Con gets underway, we’re pleased to welcome her as the newest contributor to the Star Wars blog, where she’ll be covering crafts and pop culture from the fan girl perspective. Read on for Jenn’s story, and check back throughout the weekend for her dispatches from the floor in San Diego!

Jedi-Jeni

My experience with Star Wars began when I first watched the original trilogy as a tiny tot. After that, I became obsessed. Whether it was playing with action figures or pretending Ewoks lived in my backyard, my world revolved around the Star Wars universe. I also became determined to marry Mark Hamill. Thankfully the internet wasn’t around in those days otherwise he would have had an 8 year-old tweeting marriage proposals to him.

Star Wars has changed my life in so many ways, including introducing me to an incredible group of friends and inspiring me to become an actor. So when the StarWars.com team approached me to be a guest blogger it was this lil’ geek’s dream come true! You better believe I did the “Yub Nub” dance of joy.

As a guest blogger I’ll be posting about Star Wars fashion, crafts, and musings from a fangirl perspective. I also want to cover Star Wars happenings around town so if you have a tip, let me know! Consider me your go-to gal on anything Star Wars related. Share your ideas in the comment section below!

For the next four days, I’ll be reporting from San Diego Comic-Con. As Han Solo would say, “yee hoo!” There’s a lot of exciting things to see and I’ll be cosplaying as Miss Death Star AND another special Star Wars character. If you see me on the con floor, please say hi! I’ll be the girl with the TIE Interceptor on her head. Until next time, May the Force be with you!

I am so excited that you are going to be posting here! :) You are so talented! I love your Death Star dress!
I’ve been hoping that the Star Wars blog would start up some Star Wars craft/fashion posts again, because I REALLY love crafting!
I’ve made 3 Star Wars crochet projects (that I have patterns for) on my blog–please check them out if you have a chance!

The Twi’lek hat is my favorite ;)

God Bless, May the Force be with you!

Wow, that Blu-ray rap is really… really bad.

Um, it was supposed to be a joke, not a serious attempt at becoming a rap star. And it’s impressive considering she does this stuff on her own – it’s not like she had a high powered production company helping. Lighten up and enjoy this fan girl’s unique way to share her opinion.
