Course of the Force: Will You Be My C3PO?

Katie Linendoll | July 3, 2012

Hi hi! Katie Linendoll here from Spike TV’s “All Access Weekly.”  I am super pumped to be running in Course of the Force!  As many of you know Course of the Force is an Olympic-style lightsaber torch run from Santa Monica to San Diego in preparation for Comic-Con.  Naturally, I asked my mom to design a one-of-a-kind light-up R2 costume for me. Why?  Because I’m obsessed with R2!! From R2 ice cube trays, an R2 robot that patrols my home and my R2 Xbox, he is the one and only man for me. Anyhow, mom delivered a custom R2 costume with an English twist (including fascinator) -formally dubbing it “R2-D2 Across the Pond” – nerd amazingness!!  She also hand-painted R2 shoes!  What do you think??

As excited as I am to be a part of Course, I am also pumped for the cause the run supports –  Make-A-Wish.  I volunteer in NYC with a group called Candlelighters that works with kids diagnosed with cancer.  Many have received wishes and they glow talking about them!

I’ll be ready for my leg of the journey and will be interviewing Chris Hardwick, too!  So if you have any questions for him, ask away! What else are you looking forward to at San Diego Comic-Con International?  Let me know and SPIKE will get you the low down FIRST.

Follow along at StarWars.com or Youtube.com/nerdist for full coverage of the inaugural Course of the Force, including live streaming and daily highlight packagaes!

Spike TV has live coast- to- coast coverage Friday July 13th from the Comic-Con floors 4pmET / 1pmPT and will also be streaming live at allaccess.spike.com.  From comic legends to celebrity guests, social interaction and exclusive reveals –  tune to Spike TV for all things Comic-Con!

Oh and PS – who really is the sidekick R2 or C3P0???

May the Force be with you,
@katielinendoll

    Beep boop skeeeii whoooooo – KT-D2!! Your mom is awesome. Can’t wait to see all the SDCC geekery. And C3PO is definitely the side-kick, R2 just lets him think it’s the other way. The quiet ones are the ones you have to watch, am I right? May the force be with you on the Course! Happy 4th

    But can your robot R2 climb out the window and clean your apartment from the outside?

    Seriously awesome though. Good people.

  8. [...] about Course of the Force to tell you. How about Spike TV All Access Weekly‘s Katie Linendoll talking about her plans to run in the event in an R2-D2 costume, replete with R2 [...]

    Hi, from your friends across the ‘pond’ in the UK.

    When the Olympic Torch Relay started in England a few weeks ago some observers were surprised that it was not a proper relay and travelled between towns on a coach.

    So the Endurancelife Real Relay was concieved and, just like the ‘Course of the Force’, runners have been signing up for stages to run the ‘official’ 8000 mile Olympic Torch route from Land’s End to London around the UK non-stop 24/7 for charity carrying a gps-equipped ‘lighsaber’ baton.

    Although the #RealRelay started 10 days after the ‘official’ relay the runners have been catching up the ‘dark side’ and are scheduled to overtake them in Dover on July 18 an then take the lead to London arricing before the Games begin.

    Please help the British runners feel the ‘Force’ too by ‘liking’ and ‘tweeting’ via http://facebook.com/endurancelife http://twitter.com/endurancelife http://twitter.com/realrelay
