How to Make a Snow AT-AT!

So you have a lot of snow and you’d like to recreate one of the coolest battles in the Star Wars films? Get your mittens on and start packing snow into an AT-AT worthy of Hoth!

Miguel Valenzuela writes:

My daughter sitting on top of an AT-AT Snow Sculpture. It’s about 4 feet tall (1.2 meters). I know the main canons are a bit big but anything smaller just wasn’t holding or showing up. I built it over a period of two days. About 3 hours the first day then one hour the second day. By leaving it overnight it helped freeze the top layer making it stronger.

Japanese Scientists Create Touchable Holograms

Thanks to researchers at Tokyo University, it appears that touchable holograms are now a reality.

Researchers used two Wiimotes from Nintendo’s Wii gaming system to track a user’s hand as well as software that uses ultrasonic waves to create pressure on the user’s hand touching the projected hologram.

Professor Hiroyuki Shinoda from Tokyo University says:

“Up until now, holography has been for the eyes only, and if you’d try to touch it, your hand would go right through. But now we have a technology that also adds the sensation of touch to holograms.”

Recently, pop star/teen heartthrob Justin Bieber did the rounds on talk shows to promote his new 3-D documentary about his life during his sold out tours called Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.

This week on Conan, Bieber showed a clip of his documentary and we noticed him wearing a clone trooper shirt!

Lady Gaga’s Jedi Mind Trick

Lady Gaga has danced on stage with monsters that would blend in well in a galaxy far, far away; and even mixed a deadly concoction worthy of Boba Fett.

So it makes sense that the pop star recently attempted a Jedi Mind Trick to make herself feel better before a performance.

The singer tells Vogue magazine:

“I don’t know if you knew this, but the other night, in London, I had food poisoning. I was vomiting backstage during the changes. Nobody knew. I just Jedi mind-tricked my body. ‘You will not vomit onstage’. Because I was also thinking, if I do, they are going to think I’m drunk. And I don’t want them to think I am human, let alone drunk. I certainly wouldn’t want them to think I had something so ordinary as food poisoning.”
