Couldn’t make it to The Clone Wars Season 4 panel featuring The Clone Wars supervising director Dave Filoni and producer Cary Silver, moderated by Lucasfilm’s Pablo Hidalgo. Don’t worry! Below are some of the panel highlights.
Dive right in!
Season 4 starts with an underwater story arc on the planet of Mon Calamari. Filoni said they wanted the cameras to have similar movements to underwater scuba camera. They had to create an entire civilization from the buildings to the population of the people — male and female fish, warriors, the Quarren army, etc.
It’s a….!”
Captain Ackbar is indeed in this underwater story arc. There was some debate whether or not they should have Ackbar refer to traps, but they didn’t do that.
Watch out for sharks!:
The shark-like race works with the Separatist. They have sharp teeth and bite the heads off of characters, but Filoni assures that it’s not too violent because “bubbles make it better.”
Kit Fisto is back!
“Everyone likes Kit Fisto because he smiles,” Filoni says.”He doesn’t have his shirt on, so that’s a bit of a Twilight reference.”
Scuba Clone Troopers!
Kit Fisto has scuba clone troopers in Season 4. Filoni challenges the 501st Legion to come up with scuba trooper costumes!
New Clone Trooper Story Arc with Captain Rex:
Umbara is a new planet shrouded in darkness & for the first time you get to see clone troopers killing non-droids, but infact humaniods that live on the planet. All the technoloy the Umbarans fight with weapons you’ve never seen before. Fans have actually seen Umbarans before; Palpatine’s creepy aid is an Umbaran. And a lot of the favorite troopers who have survived so far like Captain Rex and Fives will show up in this episode.
New Faces and Armor:
They changed the look of a lot of the main characters like Anakin, Ahsoka and Obi-Wan, so this season they upgraded the facial expressions on the clone faces and changed some of the armor as well. Captain Rex doesn’t like the new armor because he thinks it’s too disposable so he makes a hybrid of his old armor welded together with his new armor. He’s worried that the Republic looks at the clones as more of a disposable army.
New Jedi Character: General Krell
He’s the same species as Dexter Jettster! He’s an uncoventional, powerful Jedi who causes the clones to question things in different ways.
C-3PO & R2-D2 have new adventures!
“Star Wars is like a fairy tale from their point of view,” Filoni says. the classic animated series Droids was an inspiration.
Never Cry Wolffe
Clone trooper Wolffe returns but he’s different than Rex since he lost all his men so he’sa bit of a “curmudgeon” and doesn’t like C-3PO much.
Madame Mandalorian?
Filoni revealed that Battlestar Galactica actress Katee Sackoff will be voicing a female Mandalorian. He really wanted to have an actress voice her that really understood the fan culture. Filoni wanted to put a female Mandalorian on the show to give the woman fans another cool costume option to cosplay. Her helmet design is based on a barn owl because Filoni’s wife likes owls. Director Jon Favreau will be back as Mandalorian Pre Vizsla, as well.
Nightsisters return!
Savage Opress, Asajj Ventress, and Nightsisters will return this season as well. (As Filoni mentions the Nightsisters return for Season 4, the geek girl cosplay collective Team Unicorn — dressed as Dathomir’s Dark Side witches — walk up onstage! And he shows a clip that isn’t completed yet and even George Lucas hasn’t seen yet — of the Nightsisters fighting against battle droids!)
Bring on the Bounty Hunters!
Filoni says Cad Bane, Bossk, and Boba Fett will be back, along with an old favorite coming to the series — Dengar!
To Han or Not to Han?
A fan asks if we’ll see a young Han Solo in the series. Filoni says no, unless Lucas really insisted on it. “I don’t want to be the guy who defines that.”
By Your Commando!
Filoni confirmed clone commandos will be on the show, but not Delta Squad because he doesn’t want to mess with that continuity.
More Mortis on the way
“We’re going to do more about those kinds of mystical things in the future. It won’t be the last you hear of those types of stories. And you’ll learn more about those Force wielders and what they are and how they fit into the bigger spectrum of things,” Filoni says in answer to a fan’s question on whether the Mortis planet was the home of the Force.
New Challenges for Ahsoka:
Lux’s character might challenge Ahsoka’s own feelings about someone that she care for. When a fan asks about her pending fate, Filoni says he’s thought of about eight different possible outcomes for Ahsoka, but nothing has been decided yet.

I would like to see her have bit of a darkish ending, maybe she see’s the future and anakin’s fate, and decides it’s up to her to stop him, maybe she takes what she’s learn’t to the jedi council and they dismiss her, making her left feeling a little isolated, maybe she confronts anakin on Mortis, anakin leaves her there as she’s badly wounded or something, hence when he leaves, she’s now completely forgotten about.
Holy cow. I am so excited now I can barely breathe! I just really hope the Mandalorian/Death Watch continuity stuff isn’t messed up…but wow!!!!! I. Can’t. Wait. Everything on there just sounds so great. Eeep!
Cool… So when are you guys going to announce Battlefront 3?!!!
8 possible outcomes for ahsoka? i can think of 5:
1. she dies
2. she turns to the dark side
3. she becomes lost forever
4. she goes into hiding
5. she gets knighted
IDfferent outcomes:
1. Leaves the order to be with lux
2. Goes to the dark side
3. Is killed (if this is what happens then I will CRY!!!)
4. Goes into hiding after Order 66 and her fate becomes a mystery for fans
5. She becomes a Jedi Knight and that’s the end
I’d like to see her die. One, as much as her character is great for the show, I’ve never really cared for her overall. Two, Anakin losing his padawan would be just one more painful memory pushing him towards the dark side.
And as for a young Han Solo, they’ve done plenty on his past in the EU with him training to be an imperial pilot, etc. I don’t think his past fits in with this story.
Here’s the outcome for Ahsoka Fans: She and Lux decide to elope, thus managing to escape order 66, and the two live happily ever after. But more likely, Lux dies and Ahsoka has to deal with her anguish and the corruption of the Dark Side.
well i hope all these things are true about the clone wars. I’m glad that i was right about the mon calamari captain being the great adm. Ackbar. i was also glad read that savage opress, ventress, the nightsisters, fett and even death watch was coming back this season. i just hope this wont be the last season nor that we see the end of Ahsoka

Yay! I will remember all this! I think that Ahsoka and Rex will just…leave the Republic. Already, you can see that Rex dislikes the direction of the clone army and Ahsoka is friends with Padme so I think they will just go into hiding. Mortis? Yay! Can’t wait!
Looking forward to seeing season 4! Sounds exciting! Like to hear that Rex, Fives and Wolffe will be highlighted as well as commandos! Yay
honestly i hope rex leaves.because lets all face it hes getting old.they constantly surround the episodes about rex and anikan.they should include a different pair of people like plo koon and kit fisto.

6. She marries Rex and lives far away.
7. She is encased in carbonite and buried in Jabba’s Palace after she divorces him.

Ahsoka tano i hear will either go to Exile or die in season 4. How will Anakin take it?
Mon Calamari, Ackbar, shark alines, a Besalisk jedi (with two double bladed lightsbers!?) Mandalorians (hopefully the New Mandalorians get killed; i hate them!) and lone commandos!

8: maybe she goes MIA? something big i hope.
Eight possible outcomes?! I hope one of them is she does something like gets married and leaves the order. Not that I hate her, but it would be cool! She deserves better than to just die and have her story end! Really, that would explain why Anakin is not an emotional wreck in Episode III!

That inquiry about Han solo is a little fake because acording to the universum, Han solo was born after the fall of the republic (more in book trilogy HAN SOLO made by Mrs. Crispin)
I think Rex will leave the republic.Ahsoka will get knighted.Hopefully they show Han Solo in here and as for the Nightsisters stuff well idk.

i wonder if this new jedi krell will make influence the clones into his bidding.
Wolffe lost all of his men? Oh no, does that mean Sinker and Boost? But wait…didn’t he lose most if not all of his men ALREADY when the Star Destroyer they were on was destroyed by the Malevolence? And how does losing all his men make him DIFFERENT from Rex? Rex lost the original Torrent Company in the Clone Wars movie.
Filoni doesn’t want to mess with the continuity of Delta Squad yet he single handedly retconned the entire Republic Commando EU novels as well as the entire Madalorian culture? What gives?
I believe that Ahsoka will ether hide on some far away planet,gets knighted, or just leaves the republic. I also have other ideas but they are to long and confusing for a blog. And they wouldn’t kill her off in a children’s program same as for Rex. If they where going to do that then they would of killed her earlier. I think she should be assigned a mission where her name is different for undercover reasons.
I’d like to slap Dave for saying Kit Fisto having his shirt off is a Twilight reference. Did he never see the original Clone Wars from back in ‘03? Did he not see the episode in which a shirtless Kit leads a group of diving troopers into an underwater battle on Mon Calamari?
It also seems silly to me that the inspiration for the female Mandalorian’s helmet came from a barn owl. It doesn’t look too much different from some of the helmets seen in the Dark Horse Old Republic series. Honestly, all you need for a Mandalorian helmet is a T-shaped visor and it’s good. Modify it a bit, but it’s the same thing.
As for Ahsoka, they really should have thought about her end from the beginning. I can’t believe they haven’t decided what becomes of her. Whatever happens, it won’t really come as a surprise to anyone since there are only so many possible outcomes.
Epic! I really want to know whats happening between Lux and Ahsoka. Could they be falling for each other, possibly although that doesn’t explain why Lux and Ahsoka are alone on a remote ice world with Lux dealing with Death Watch.
I wanna see Nightsisters fighting Battle Droids! I hope that the Nightsisters join the Republic. Ventress working with the Jedi! Awesome! Anyone agree?
Mortis! Cant wait to see a battle there! If you read this Filoni then try to get a Season Five Battle on Mortis between Republic and Seperatist! Season 4 is Awesome! Season 5 will be even better!

I can think of 8 possible outcomes for Ahsoka
1. She gets killed
2. She becomes Dooku’s new apprentice
3. She leaves the Jedi Order
4. She goes into exile
5. She becomes a Jedi Knight (very early)
6. She survives Order 66
7. She is lost forever
8. She is sent back by Anakin for a (code breaking) reason
Oh Yeah and also there could be a mission on Correlia and Jedi or Clones could cross paths with Young Han that would be truly awesome! Would be like Anakin, Obi-Wan and Jaybo all over again!

Um, I can’t believe how many people said they think ahsoka will get knighted??!!! In episode 3 it was a big deal that Anakin was put on the council but not made Master. You get to become master after raising a Padawan to Knight hood, therefore, ahsoka can NEVER become a jedi knight. If she does they are ignoring G-cannon. If she dies or turns evil because of anakins reckless teachings then it enriches the conversation of his masterless status in Ep. III.
This new season is gonna be the best! i cant wait to see the new arc troopers in action in the 501st and i really want to see all new characters!

Dude, Luke is born during the fall of the Republic, if Han was born after, why is Han older than Luke? Han had to be born before the fall. Period. I see nothing wrong with Han being in the clone wars, as long as Dave Baloney doesn’t screw up canon in the process, the way he has been.
Rex will join the empire but die after that maybe of old age

I don’t understand why people here think that ahsoka will be knighted. One way for a jedi knight to reach the status of jedi master is for their padawan to be knighted. Anakin never became a master so ahsoka will most likely not be knighted. She might die, go into hiding after order 66, fall to the dark side, she might fall in love with someone and be exiled from the jedi order. There are several possible fates for her, knighthood is not one of them.
I think Asoka is going to leave the republic and go off with Lux Bonteri as sort of neutral people or (probably not) separatists who don’t believe in the war, because as of “Heroes on Both Sides” She realizes that the separatists aren’t all bad but maybe something happens that show her the republic isn’t what it appears to be and perhaps rex goes with them because he isn’t to happy with the republic, perhaps it (Asoka leaving the republic) has something to do with something Chancellor Palpatine has Anakin do.
I was just wondering if we’ll see Obi wan’s old friend Bant (also Kit fisto’s apprentice in the jedi apprentice) in season 4 as she is from Mon calamari….

Resolve Sev’s death for the love of pete, RC 2 is never going to see the light of day, KT has stopped writing the novels, Please just resolve what happened to Sev and the rest of Delta. The series is all about sacrifice, clones giving more of themselves for the cause of the republic, sacrifing their lives , ambitions and opportunities, to allow the largely ungrateful citizens to go about their business without getting their hands dirty. Arc trooper echo was a tocing moment from the end of series 3. Sev’s sacrifice would make a great episode
