A Home Theater Worthy of Hyperspace

Why watch Star Wars on your TV in a boring living room when you can pretend you’re hanging with R2-D2 and C-3PO in the cockpit of a Corellian Cruiser?

Gizmodo.com writes:

The house has 6 flat panel HDTVs each with their own futuristic touchscreen remote from Creston (each with one button – “WATCH DVD” – that sets all the correct inputs and eliminates headaches). But I’m pretty sure I’d be spending all my time in the theater.

It has life-size R2-D2 and C-3PO replicas that talk to the audience (I assume 3PO stays quiet during the actual screenings), a ceiling featuring a three-dimensional fiber optic scarscape, and a motorized pocket door that serves as the entrance, just like you’d find on a Corellian Cruiser.

This is amazing! How much did a theater like this cost?

Looks more like Star Trek than Star Wars to me. If you have that kind of money and were going for a SW look, then you should have something way better than that. Hire some guys from the RPF to do it properly. Also for it to be accurate C-3PO should talk through the entire movie.

I agree with Jason. As soon as I saw it I thought I was on the bridge of the Enterprise. Too many curves and rounded edges. Needs to look more rough and pieced-together.

This is one awesome entertainment room! I would love to have something like this for my apartment! I want to board the corellian cruiser!

If I were rich enough to do that I would just buy one of the ships from Star Tours and modify it into a home theater. That way when I watched Star Wars all of the space battle scenes would be a kickass motion ride.

  8. Right!! That’s totally an LCARS display up in there. My personal extravagant theater will look like the bridge to the Enterprise-D or maybe Voyager. Gotta love that Janeway.
