He's been to busy trying to understand Star Wars to actually RUN THIS COUNTRY!

While calling him a Jedi Master is over the top :P, this one is seriously better than the one who:

said, "If you're not with me, you're against me."

voted himself executive powers and kept everything as secret as he could

created a way for the government, neighbors and even phone companies to spy on innocent citizens and then wrap it up in the word "patriot"

took part in unnecessary wars meant to distract the populace

had no problem keeping people in jail indefinitely without benefit of a jury trial

And yes, I'm sorry, but all of that does in fact sound frighteningly familiar.

@Bohica: And now you've taken a step towards becoming more like the rest of us :) Congratulations!

As for the Hitler-comment, I think it's a bit like the Catholic Church's comparison between the paedophilia-criticism and anti-Semitism.

The beauty of the scrolling option: if you don't like what someone posted, simply scroll past it.

@Harald: The U.S. has a different history than the rest of the developed world. Our system is one uniquely American -- it matters not what other countries do, we have our own laws here.

I just find it strange how an advanced nation can kick up so much fuss about something as basic as universal health-care. The rest of the developed world has moved on...

One more thing, the people who compare Obama with Stalin or even Hitler (I hope the Sith Lord comment was meant in jest) display a shocking lack of contact with the world. I find it frightening.

WOW!! All this BS commentary over a guy buying a book!! I won't state my political affiliation because ALL of you are ridiculous. THIS is what is ruining this country. The most common, innocent act by a president from either party and the fringes of the parties start their rhetoric!! Unbelievable!! Perhaps if all of you fringe political voters talked to the people in the middle, you would realize most people are disgusted by your thoughts and views.

Okay, Bohica.....you just said that you don't want political commentary on the Star Wars site, and you threw a bunch of it out there in the above comment. Could all of please shut it and leave the political crap for another website? Nobody really wants to see this stuff here. This is a site about STAR WARS, not Capitol Hill.

No trolling here.

The blog called the president a Jedi Master; I called him a Sith Lord. As a Star Wars fan that visits the site not looking for political commentary, I am getting sick and tired of the sobbering love affair that has been displayed more than once on this site with Obama.

I was told that I had the wrong president and I responded that I form my opinions based on action, not rhetoric.

The next thing I know, Darbanell is throwing derogatory redneck comments in the direction of those that don't like the president.

@Just Saying: "Ignorance" isn't a large or uncommon word. I'm not using it to confuse anyone.

@Darbanell: Your "will of the people" theory is seriously flawed. The "will of the people" is a snapshot in time. Because Obama was elected, it doesn't mean he has free reign to do what he wants. We are a year and a half removed from the mood of Nov 08. Things have changed. I think the most reputable polls (Rasmussen/Gallup) show that.

What did the U.S. lose? This new law is unconstitional; people are now forced to purchase or product from a private company or pay a fine. Your very existance is fined if you don't conform. Where in the constitution is the federal government granted oversight of health care. You can't find it! It isn't there. This new law raises premiums.
It doesn't cover those who Congress promised it would -- I'm all for my tax dollars covering children; not 26 year old babies. It destroys wealth. It kills jobs. It adds hundreds of millions to state budgets when states are already going bankrupt. In the words of Howard Dean -- it is income redistribution.

The vice president admitted that this bill allows the government to control the insurance companies. Liberal elites have promised that this is only a first step; the next step -- the selling point for Kucinich -- is that the public option is going to follow. Americans do not want a government-run system, but liberals are hell bent on delivering one anyway.

@jojack
From my perspective, the political parties are one in the same. They just grow government at different speeds and to different levels of intrusion. I'm all for additional parties; I also think that an elected candidate needs to win 51% of the vote -- the current system punishes those that would risk their vote with a third-party candidate. We probably have more in common on these issues than you might have initially thought.
