Hasbro’s Mega AT-AT Unveiled!

Pete Vilmur | February 13, 2010

Today at the 2010 New York Toy Fair, Hasbro unveiled the heavily-rumored (and consequently highly-anticipated) all new AT-AT vehicle for their 3.75-inch action figure line, which will retail for about $100 on August 1. Check out the images and description below, and get the full roster of Hasbro toys announced at Toy Fair after the jump (stay tuned for more Toy Fair coverage as we report from the event starting this weekend in New York)!

Star Wars AT-AT
(Approximate Retail Value: $99.99; Ages: 5 & up)
In space, size does matter, and Hasbro certainly kept that in mind when creating its all-new, highly detailed Star Wars AT-AT. The AT-AT (All Terrain Armored Transport) played a significant role in the Empire’s military assault in The Empire Strikes Back, and it will play an equally important role in every fan’s toy collection this year! Measuring more than 24 inches tall, nearly 28 inches long, and 12 inches wide, this colossal vehicle holds up to 20 Star Wars figures — 6 of which can fit in its head alone! — and includes so many play and electronic features true to its on-screen counterpart that it’s hard to believe! From the zip-line in its body and articulated legs for superb poseability, to its LED lights and authentic movie sounds and phrases, this is the must-have addition for Star Wars fans of all ages. Includes a 3.75 inch AT-AT driver action figure and a pop-out speeder bike.

Additional Hasbro releases for 2010 include the following, with the first two items featured with photos in our earlier coverage here. Unless otherwise noted, these will all be available August 1:

Star Wars GENERAL GRIEVOUS LIGHTSABER
(Approximate Retail Price: $34.99; Ages: 6 & up)
JEDI warriors have long recognized the prowess of GENERAL GRIEVOUS as a highly skilled, elusive and often multiple-LIGHTSABER-wielding adversary. Now, kids can engage in LIGHTSABER battles just like this powerful cyborg with the new Star Wars: The Clone Wars GENERAL GRIEVOUS LIGHTSABER. Battle with the power of GENERAL GRIEVOUS by spinning the two LIGHTSABERS simultaneously in one hand, take out the spinner and connect the two LIGHTSABERS for double-bladed LIGHTSABER action, or use the two separately to ward off an opponent. Both LIGHTSABERS include electronic lights and battle sounds!

Star Wars BOBA FETT HELMET
(Approximate Retail Price: $34.99; Ages: 4 & up)
Show off your bounty hunting skills like Boba Fett, the greatest bounty hunter in the galaxy, with the Star Wars BOBA FETT HELMET. Impressively designed and styled, the Star Wars BOBA FETT HELMET allows children to pretend to be their favorite bounty hunter as featured in both the movie The Empire Strikes Back and the new animated series The Clone Wars. The helmet also features electronic sounds and phrases and a light-up tracking scope!

Star Wars R/C MILLENNIUM FALCON
(Approximate Retail Value: $49.99; Ages: 8 & up; Available fall, 2010)
Han Solo once bragged that the Millennium Falcon made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs — and now fans can give it their best shot with the all-new Star Wars R/C MILLENNIUM FALCON! For the first time ever, the MILLENNIUM FALCON — the most beloved and iconic Star Wars ship of all-time — is available as an indoor flying remote control vehicle. Measuring an impressive 11 inches long and 8 inches wide, the largest flying Star Wars R/C to date is highly detailed, easy to fly and includes a charging controller and vehicle battery for up to five minutes of flying time.

Star Wars HAILFIRE DROID R/C VEHICLE
(Approximate Retail Price: $59.99; Ages: 8 & up)
A Separatist droid’s value in battle is based on two factors: firepower and aggression. And with the Star Wars HAILFIRE DROID R/C VEHICLE, you have both! The first Star Wars R/C vehicle to be offered in the 3.75 inch scale, this powerful droid vehicle is armed with 18 projectile-firing cannons that can be fired from the handheld remote to take on opponents from a distance. Sensitive remote-controlled handling makes this droid great for flips, stunts and taking down the 3.75 inch clone army. Between its versatile maneuverability and high-fire power, no galactic army should be without it! 3.75 inch CLONE TROOPER action figure included.

Star Wars GALACTIC BATTLE GAME
Star Wars fans, prepare to battle your friends in head-to-head action and unlock the hidden powers of your favorite action figures. In 2010, a wide selection of Hasbro’s Star Wars 3.75 inch action figures will include the all-new Star Wars GALACTIC BATTLE GAME. Each figure is packaged with a competitive gaming base, a unique battle attributes card and a die to play the game, allowing kids to interact with their Star Wars action figures in a whole new way. Game on!

Fans can collect the GALACTIC BATTLE GAME components with Star Wars: THE CLONE WARS 3.75 inch ACTION FIGURES, Star Wars SAGA LEGENDS 3.75 inch ACTION FIGURES, Star Wars DELUXE FIGURE AND VEHICLES and Star Wars BATTLE PACKS.

Star Wars 3.75 INCH VINTAGE ACTION FIGURES
(Approximate Retail Value: $7.99; Ages: 4 & up)
In 2010, Hasbro is taking Star Wars fans back to “a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away” with 28 Star Wars 3.75 inch VINTAGE ACTION FIGURES. The selection includes all-time favorite characters from throughout the six-film Saga, such as LUKE SKYWALKER, 4-LOM, DENGAR and HAN SOLO. Each of the figures in this assortment will feature the exceptionally accurate design and superb articulation customary to Hasbro’s action figures, and they will be offered in packaging reminiscent to that of the original 1978-1984 Star Wars packaging!

Additionally fans are also encouraged to collect five of the marked figures in the new vintage lineup to send away for their very own “Rocket Firing” BOBA FETT action figure, identically styled after the 1980 mail-away figure.

GALACTIC HEROES AT-AT PLAYSET
(Approximate Retail Price: $39.99; Ages: 3 & up)
The youngest Star Wars fans continue to enjoy action figures inspired by the Republic and Empire thanks to Hasbro’s wildly popular GALACTIC HEROES lineup. And now, children can celebrate the 30th Anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back with the GALACTIC HEROES AT-AT PLAYSET! The largest vehicle ever introduced in the GALACTIC HEROES toy line features electronic lights and sounds, poseable legs, a speeder bike and AT-AT DRIVER figure.

Star Wars: THE CLONE WARS R2-D2 IS IN TROUBLE GAME
(Approximate Retail Price: $14.99; Ages: 5 & up; Available: Spring 2010)
Usually C-3PO needs help and R2-D2 comes to the rescue, but this time, the roles have been reversed with the R2-D2 IS IN TROUBLE GAME. This is the classic game of TROUBLE featuring a new fun Star Wars: The Clone Wars twist and R2-D2 is in the pop-o-matic bubble. Includes authentic R2-D2 electronic sounds.

Star Wars LIGHTSABERS
(Approximate Retail Price: $9.99 to $19.99 to $34.00 up to $119.99)
2010 is the year of the LIGHTSABER! Hasbro is offering its widest range ever of Star Wars LIGHTSABERS — the quintessential battle weapon for JEDI and SITH across the galaxy. From the BASIC and ELECTRONIC LIGHTSABERS, to the all-new spinning GENERAL GRIEVOUS LIGHTSABER, to the line of authentic high-end replica FORCE FX LIGHTSABERS, Hasbro offers Star Wars fans of all ages a variety of ways to engage with the noble weapon of the JEDI. The new ELECTRONIC LIGHTSABERS even offer a DVD featuring the greatest lightsaber battles ever, including epic duels from the animated television series and the live action battles between the most famous JEDI and SITH. “the Star Wars BOBA FETT HELMET allows children to pretend to be their favorite bounty hunter as featured in both the movie The Empire Strikes Back and the new animated series The Clone Wars.”

  8. avatar Birdman says:

Wow. I’m not a huge collector, I usually just get the 3 3/4″ figures and the mini titanium vehicles, but this might just make it onto my Christmas list this year.

  9. avatar General Lin says:

  11. avatar Sompeetalay says:

The AT-AT Walker looks great ! I just hope the ‘Vintage’-line will bring more new figures in upcoming waves. Only Dak is really new and some figures didn’t even need upgrades (Luke Bespin, 4-LOM, Zuckuss …). Zuckuss still needs to appear in Belgium and yet during summer there will be an ‘upgrade’ about him.

  20. avatar tk525 says:

Awesome Boba Fett fig! As for the new “vintage” figs, I’ve have been waiting for Hasbro to do something like this, new figs sculpted in the old style (5 moving parts) but only with more characters with a substantial role in the original trilogy: G.Moff Tarkin, Owen and Beru (of course not the “charred versions”), Rebel Fleet trooper, Spirit of Obi Wan, Cantina Band Member, etc. Along with the sculpting, use the same kind of method for making the figure’s face sort of look like the character, but not dead on i.e.: vintage Luke, Han, Leia, Ben, etc. Keep the vintage feel, as if they were made back then, with little tools to work with. As you can tell, I’m more of a Vintage S.W. collector. It’s the stuff I played with as a kid and made me happy. Now, I play with my son, and display my old stuff. Good year for Star Wars! Empire Strikes back will always be the best one! tk525

  21. avatar tk525 says:

Oh Yeah, hey “knon” if you also look at the new vintage packaged Boba Fett fig, he has a Jango Fett gun in his hand…I bet Fett will be in Season three…

  25. avatar Tamer says:

This great vehicle release is such a great way to commemorate the anniversary of the Empire Strikes Back. I hear that toysrus is even gonna have a special vintage edition box. Can’t wait to see what that looks like!

  26. avatar Chip says:

    Crazy awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  27. avatar Star Wars Guy says:

I love the new toys, but wish they would stop re-releasing the same items over and over. In the long run it kills the value of the vintage figures.

  28. avatar Don says:

This looks great… but two words “Sail Barge”!!! That would be off the hook!!! Or large “death star” sections that connect!!! Or “Hoth Base” w/ Ion cannon!!! Sweet!!

  29. avatar Colin says:

LoL why is it that all the good stuff comes out when im old lol
i have original ATAT out of cardboard then the next gen plastic
now comes out like this man wish was a kid again oh wait i have kids now lol REALLY would like a NEW DEATH STAR SET had all original cardboard again lol and then the 4 level quarter with gun
    STAR WARS shall never end

  30. avatar Armageist says:

Still not to exact scale, but definitely a step up compared to previous ones. Should be nice in someones collection with the AT-TE, AT-PT, AT-RT, and AT-ST

  31. avatar DK78 says:

How do we get one- can it be pre-ordered????

  32. avatar Gonzalo says:

Perfect At-at, a must for my collection. I hope Hasbro releases more Hoth characters like Hoth gear Luke, Deck Officer, snowtrooper commander, Toryn Farr.

A new detailed Taun taun will be amazing also.

  38. avatar heather says:

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to determine the value of my vintage collection? I have all of the toys from when I was a kid…I kept the boxes for everything, though they are a bit tattered! I hate to let go of it all but am financially strapped so I guess now is the time. I looked on ebay and the range is huge! Not everything that I have was listed but the total for what I did find ranged from $800 to just under $3k. I have a couple of guys coming to look at them tonight but I don’t know how much to ask!! Thoughts, anyone? Thanks!!

  39. avatar Michael says:

Loving this! Makes me wish I was a kid again :)

  40. avatar Travis Burke says:

Hey, did anyone else get an ATAT with the ATAT driver having two right arms, literally. Mine has two right arms.

  41. avatar Brian says:

IT’S SO COOL YOU CAN GET AT TARGET FOR LIKE $80 WITH CUPON

  42. avatar Jess says:

Can someone please tell me how to pronounce AT-AT. Is is like “at at” or is it “A-T-A-T” like the letters? I was never a star wars fan, but I have a 4 year old and he is so crazy about it! We are getting the AT AT for him for Christmas and I can’t wait to get it for him. Thanks for all you help:)

  43. avatar Rob says:

    This comes from Wikia Wookieepedia:

The name “AT-AT” is never spoken in any of the films. Instead, the machines are referred to as “Imperial walkers.” AT-AT is pronounced “at-at” in Star Wars: Force Commander, and Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. They are also called “A-T-A-T”s briefly in Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader. In Star Wars: Battlefront II both terms are used. However, in Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron, it is pronounced “A-T-A-T”.”

  44. avatar Neodarth says:

Wow! this is my all time favorite SW vehicle and this is far more detailed than the one I have from the 80’s!

  45. avatar Rich says:

I have been a huge star wars fan for over 30 years now. My earliest memory was watching origonal The Empire Strikes Back in the theater as a very young boy. I owned and kept most of my figures & vehicles from back in the 70’s, but only in the last ten years or so began actively collecting. Anyway I received this AWESOME AT-AT for Christmas from my wonderful girlfriend however I’m at a loss. I feel I can’t appreciate the true size & beauty of this all time personal favorite vehicle…So my question is do I keep it in its factory sealed box to maintain its value or do I open it to display? Troubled by this, any thoughts as it was not cheap. Please only mature, collectible savy responses. Thankyou

take it out very carefully very carefully!
