Mon Dieu! Star Wars Made in France

January 13, 2010

From a country that loves its mimes and Jerry Lewis, it shouldn’t be surprising that this vintage video from 1977 features a gaggle of dancing Darth Vaders and C-3POs.

If droids dream, this is probably it.

“I grow tired of asking this, so it will be the last time. Where are my ballet slippers?”

This is one the scariest things I’ve seen in a long time. The worst part was when we first saw the Vaders and they seemed to be trying to be seductive. They then seemed to flash us with their capes. And C-3PO’s skin tight metallic leotard left little to the imagination. Only the French.

  5. dakota66 says:

Once again this proves that the French have no shame.

  6. TD2243 says:

That was the greatest moment in TV history.

  7. jedibalonwan1.0 says:

Personally I think the French just ruined star wars in the making of that film.
It is horrible to watch and makes me think that the French have no respect for Star Wars. The only dancing in star wars should during a light saber duel.

  8. Magelord says:

LOL It’s like a train wreck! You know it’s going to be horrible but you just can’t look away!!!! Too funny!

  9. Imperator_88 says:

ICK. But I do kinda like the Vaders landing like bats on the planet at about 2:40 – it’s Darth Mynock!!

  11. KeinanSunrider says:

Don’t say French disrespect Star Wars. It would be as stupid as saying the US are all fat and Conservatives. I guess there are just bad people doing horrible things (just like this video) in every country… Don’t blame my country for this!! Just blame the guy!

  12. darthsmith says:

  13. THX_1337 says:

  14. Taco-Bot says:

First, I think we shouldn’t be disrespectful of either the French or Conservatives! Second, though it is horrible, it’s absolutely no worse than the Donny and Marie bit from the same era!

  19. The Perfume Flavored Moose says:

This makes me sad. I dont get why everyone flew up and landed on buildings in a city! This is a disgrace to Vader and a disgrace to 3-P0

    Goldenrod got moves!

  21. Stéfan says:

I’m French and I’d like to say that this video is not supported by all French. Which is sad. Because it’s awesome. It’s even superior to the Star Wars movies.

  22. Aubrie Kortosse' says:

May the Force be with us. I was so disturbed I had to turn it off before I went postal. I don’t blame the French for this, only the insane creature who created it. Some people have no respect for Star Wars anymore

  23. obi alex kenobi says:
