Star Wars artist Chris Trevas let us know of this glorious Tauntaun cake for his wedding!
Julie and I had Courtney Clark from Cake Nouveau of Food Network Challenge (and TLC Ultimate Cake-Off) fame do our wedding cakes including a special cake request from me — Luke Skywalker stuffed inside a dead Tauntaun!

It was certainly one of the talks of the wedding evening. Older relatives were a bit confused, but the kids and our friends loved it!

Courtney did an amazing job! My wife Julie and I are big Food Network nerds so we were geeked to hire her.
As further proof of what cake nerds we are, my only big non-Star Wars job I did last year was artwork for the Ace of Cakes book just released this month.

Hey i think the Anakin and Padm’e cake is a great idea. It’s cute! i thought the two Stormtroopers were the Bride and Groom. That would have been cute. Very impressive, but at the same time…EWWW. So, cool. i want to have a Star Wars wedding. I hate dresses so I’ll be a Stormtrooper or a Jedi!
Somehow the tauntaun looks more like the creature from the Never Ending Story than a tauntaun. I think it’s the fact that “hair/fur” is really difficult to do in cake form.
The Luke is awesome. Even seems to look more like the post “Corvette Summer” crash mangled ESB Luke, as opposed to the pretty boy ANH Luke or coked out ROTJ Luke.
I think its great that the groom’s cakes are becoming a larger part of the wedding cake traditions. This one is a bit weird, but for any Star Wars fan it is certainly an amazing treat to see. I love that Luke Skywalker is coming out of its guts! Awesome, totally awesome! Great work!!!
That is one of the best looking cake ive ever have not wanted to taste.

Now that is what I call an interesting cake for a wedding!
