The rehearsals for tonight’s performance of Star Wars: In Concert at the Honda Center in Anaheim have concluded, and we’ve updated our Flickr series with a bunch of fresh imagery straight from the stage, exhibit, and merchandise booth!
Even in rehearsals, the stage presentation is awesome — brilliant, sharp imagery, live orchestra, synchronized lighting effects — a fully-immersive experience. The prop exhibit includes a few gems we’ve never seen on display before — can you pick them out? And there’s a whole bunch of new merchandise available exclusively to concert-goers at this event, many of which we’re sharing in the Flickr series — so what are you waiting for? Head on over now!

MY HUSBAND AND I WENT TO THE HONDA CENTER IN ANAHEIM, CA TONIGHT TO SEE THE STARS WARS IN CONCERT.
WE HAVE GONE TO MANY PLAYS AND SHOWS THIS YEAR AND THIS IS THE BEST WE HAVE SEEN ALL YEAR. IT WAS FUN, FUNNY, LOTS OF FACTS AND INFORMATION ABOUT THIS MOVIE I NEVER NEW. I FINALLY KNOW WHAT THIS MOVIE WAS ALL ABOUT. MY HUSBAND SAID—”WE WILL HAVE TO WATCH ALL THE MOVIES AGAIN (VIA DVD) JUST TO GET THE EXCITEMENT OF THE CONCERT WE SAW TONIGHT. AGAIN, A MUST SEE FOR ALL. HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!
Just came back from the concert. AMAZING! Made me wish to see the movies come back to the big screen! Anthony Daniels was great, the music and orchestra was outstanding!!!!
I was there last night, it was awesome, got the cantina band shirt
i was pretty worried that the seating i had for last night’s show was not going to be a good place to see the entire show well, since i got it at the “third” level, yet i manage to get it facing the stage… i may not have been able to see Sir Anthony Daniels well and clearly besides the giant screen, but, despite the seating, it was truly wonderful! I love listening to the soundtrack on my ipod, but this, this is truly breathtaking seeing them play LIVE while you see the movie images in the giant screen.. so far this is my 3rd concert i’ve ever been to, but it’s truly the greatest! i will never forget this.. thank god i decided to go, otherwise i would have regretted it a lot. =]
Absolutely amazing, even my wife was awe struck. The orchestra, with the chorus just blew us away. I been a fan since the begining, and I loved everything about it. The fans dressed up, to the shirts to props the children had…..a must go see for any fan!! Oh, and what does that say, when crowd gave a 5 minute plus, standing ovation
I bought tickets to the concert to surprise my husband as an early birthday present
To my surprise, I ended up being just as excited as he was! the narrator was captivating, the orchestra was phenomenal, and the screen and effects were absolutely mesmerizing!!!! I got sooo tickled because there was a little boy sitting behind us, he couldn’t have been more than 4 years old; and he knew the names of all the characters. And I also saw a senior citizen woman that had a braid in the back of her hair just like Anakin’s!!!! It was truly a wonderful night and it was amazing to be able to share last night with the man that I love!!!!!
I WANNA GO BUT I CAN’T!!!!
I’m going to be going to the concert @ HP Pavillion. I CAN’T WAIT!
Im going to the one in Sacramento on Oct. 10! Cant wait!!! I even made a count down calender for it and for the clone wars season 2 premiere! It looks awesome!

Im going on the 11th at the HP pavillion. I cant Wait. i have a chance to meet Anthony Daniels after the show!
OMG!! That was one of the most entertainig concerts i’ve ever been to. It was everything i thought it would be and then some. I highly recommend if you are truly a Star Wars fan, you gotta go see experience this event.
Just got back, It was absolutely one of the best Star Wars things I’ve done , They diffidently hit the mark, I have never seen so many little kids dressed in Jedi robes, grown men and woman walking around with FX lightsabers, and people just out having a great time with their families. It was a very special night.
Went last night (Oct 2 2009) I LOVED IT!!! The orchestra brought tears to my eyes!! I loved the presentation by Anthony Daniels it was given as a story teller woudl tell the story of the different parts of the series….his overenthuseism of the droids was fun and made the show…I hope everyone who has a chance to see this production posnies up the money because it is worth it!!!!!…and don’t forget the program a MUST have for any Star Wars fan..If I could I’d go see it agin I hope they bring it out on DVD so we can all relive the show again and again!!!!
Can anyone tell me how long it is? It isn’t so much about the length (Star Wars concerts can last forever!) as it is about arranging transportation home for everyone in my party.
Can anyone tell me how early you can go see the exhibit before the concert?
I loved the show! However, I collect Star Wars posters…guess what…the posters for Star Wars in Concert were not ready for sale! If anyone knows how I can get one, let me know.
Thanks!
From what I have read:
- The concert is two hours long
- Doors open at 7 pm for the exhibit and will be open 1 hour after the concert is over
Q: Does anyone know if they allow cameras inside for the exhibit?
I’m going on the 11th.
it looks awesome!!!
i cant wait; i save $150 just to buy stuff there!!
Where are the best seats to experience the concert?
Just curious if anyone has seen this show with up front floor seats? I have center floor 2 row 3 for the HP show. I want to know if I will be too close to the big screen.
Thanks,
-John
I went to the LA performance and had a GREAT time. Breathtaking sorta captures the waft of such beautiful music washing over you, from the orchestra and the choir. The accompanying visuals really accentuated the experience since nothing is really happening during normal classical music concerts. I decided to go late and got obstructed seats but it didn’t matter much since I knew all the visuals from the movies by heart anyways. I heartily recommend going if you can!
We have tickets tomorrow for HP pavillion and it says on there.. No camera’s with flash during the concert!!!
I like everything of Star Wars, and I am going to the concert.
I have met Anthony Daniels, in 98 and again in 2005 at Dragon Con in Atlanta, Georgia. He is one of those actors that thinks the Star Wars Universe revolves around him. My wife asked him to do the voice of the character, which is the way he speaks anyway, just a little higher pitched, and he said he got paid big money to do that.He is a snob.
Before we me met him, we saw and spoke with Matthew Wood who did the voice for General Grievous, and you can tell he had a better personality, and we asked him “How much of a blast was it to do a voice over for such a fantastic character?” Not only did he answer the question with enthusiasm, he answered it in Character. He and Ray Parks Darth Maul, are probably the nicest of all the actors that go to the conventions. Lucas should get one of them to be Master Of Ceremonies.
im going on the 21st of oct in okc getting my costume to wear to it
I was in the chorus for these shows… it was the most amazing musical experience of my career. I got to sit on stage just behind the orchestra and just below the giant screen. When the curtains drop and the Main Theme starts up, the chorus has to sit there quietly, but in reality we are about to jump out of our own skin because it was so exciting. Next, when the lights went out, it was our cue to stand up and be ready to sing the Duel of the Fates. How lucky we were to be singing with some of THE BEST symphony musicians in the world. What an amazing experience. I will never forget it. And they let us go out and watch the show for the second half, too! What a great ride!
Im in chicago there here december 6th i cant wait to go!

Went to the show in Salt Lake City. Drove from Colorado to go with my boys. It was great! All around good show. It kept two boys interested in a symphony show for 2 hours. It’s worth the money.
we are attending the star wars in concert for my 3 year olds birthday. he is such a star wars geek already. my question is do they sell merchandise for the kids; shirts, light sabers, figures, etc.???
You must bring this event to western Canada. Vancouver (Home of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games) must have this event! Please add our city to your list of stops on this tour!
I’m going to the Houston, TX event tonight!!! I’m SOOSOO excited!!!
I am getting ready to take my family to the show in Tampa. So excited. Its my daughters bday gift. I am getting teary eyed typing this. I have read the reviews and watched the youtube videos.
Well we are back and all i can say is WOW! if you can go see it…DO IT! Great show. 2 hours flew right by. Not a dull or boring moment in the show. Simply AWESOME!
Will be at the Atlanta show tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing some of the same peeps I saw at Celebration 3 in Indy back in 05!!
re: merch — Why no 2x, 3x, 4x sizes?
Going in Boston for my son’s 13th birthday!!! Can’t wait!
7 days before the show in Montreal. So exited about it, after reading some of your reviews…
LOVED the Music, not impressed by the exhibit. Close inspection, in my opinion, led me to believe most of the items were not original but re-creations just for a road/travel heavy exhibit. The joints on C3PO were not moveable the whole piece looked like it was from a cast. The yoda was least impressive, just a rubber looking doll. I must say I expected more from the exhibit. The fans in costume seem to pay MUCH more attention to realism and realism (if I can use that word in this context) than the exhibit curators did.
THE MUSIC MOVED ME TO TEARS! SPECTACULAR! I wish there were more bio’s and web links on the production team and musicians I love hearing about how it’s all done, mixed, performed, and the background stories of the musician’s!
I was unable to attend. Does anyone know if they are planning on touring next year?
Does anyone know if they will ever tour again!!!
will they ever tour i am so bummed that i miss it and really want to go!
