When you draw R2-D2, does he look more like a watermelon on roller skates than a cool droid? Does the Yoda you see in your head look nothing like the green blob that ends up on paper? Don’t go to the dark side yet! Learn to draw like a Jedi Master with this hands-on workbook — Draw Star Wars: The Clone Wars — from Klutz.
Written by the editors of Klutz and Lucasfilm’s Bonnie Burton, and illustrated by Star Wars artist Grant Gould, Draw Star Wars: The Clone Wars is packed with tips and techniques, practice space to draw right in the book, and translucent overlays that make tracing a snap.
Draw Star Wars: The Clone Wars hits stores in October 2009.

I LOVE THE DRAWING IN THE BOOKS
My daughter received this book for Christmas. She already owned the Matt Busch/ Bonnie Burton book which remains her favorite but she was thrilled to get the Clone Wars version from Klutz. Christmas day she spent much of her time paging through it, and I know she started sketching right away. Everyone knew she would love it as we often print out the You Can Draw extras online (we loved the Katie Cook younglings one!).
So taken with this book that she was unable to part with it and brought it to school. She is in the 5th grade and is often showing off her Star Wars collection, she dons Star Wars gear (including a lunch box) and makes a case against any girl/boy who thinks its weird she likes Star Wars. So, off went this very cool How to Draw book on the first Monday after the holiday break. When I went to pick her up, she was not coming out. Her teacher said that she was distraught because her Star Wars book went missing. It had been in the lockers and now it was gone. There was full fledged search for it. The teachers took this very seriously. They had checked the students desks but could not find it. They went everywhere the book went but no luck. My daughter was a mess. I tried to console her, I told her that we can always get another one. The next day, the teachers made an announcement that if someone took it by accident or otherwise to return it. A boy, a friend of hers, came forward later in the day and said he found it. However, it had his name in it and was now drawn in marker throughout, pages cut out and covered in something sticky. My daughter felt betrayed, we tried to clean it up when we got home but it was impossible. She was mostly troubled that her friend and classmate took it. Later she said maybe he just couldn’t resist it because it was so cool, that happens all the time with Star Wars things. She then said she was going to give him the copy since he had wanted it. “He’s my friend, Mom. He just made a mistake.” I was so impressed. And she is right, it is such an “cool” book that I can see the tempatation. Though, she did admit she was glad she didn’t bring her Matt Busch book- that is staying home.
