  8. Cap BD says:

No wonder its doing so well in the box office! It’s that R2 star power!

  9. marcus says:

this isn’t a first. isn’t the enterprise in phantom menace? over courasant.

  10. Rene says:

    that is treason

  11. Robbie says:

To Marcus-haven’t heard about the Enterprise in Phantom Menace, but the Millennium Falcon is in First Contact in the beginning battle with the Borg over Earth. I don’t understand the “tension” between the worlds, I love both. They each have their highs. I’d say lows, but can’t think of any! :) Though, I must admit, I would have to put the Star Wars universe above the Star Trek universe simply because of the scope. I mean, Star Wars has an insanely long timeline…Bane to Caedus (1000+ years) versus Star Trek’s Enterprise to Nemesis (only a couple hundred years). Look at the whole R2 in the new movie as a trade off. The Clone Wars tv series got George Takei and now they get R2. Vulcans would make for interesting Jedi, yes?

  12. Pabawan says:

Nah, the Enterprise wasn’t in TPM (People think they see it, but it’s a silhouette caused by two different speeders on Coruscant). BUT, the Millennium Falcon is in First Contact. :)

  13. Jeero says:

Also, there are two Blade Runner spinners in Phantom Menace, which was an homage to Blade Runner’s use of the Millennium Falcon as part of the city skyline. :)

  14. kuba wysota says:

great idea! i love the new movie star trek! i can’t believe R2-D2!

  15. ScubaBuddha says:

Just saw the movie a third time, this time looking for R2 but no luck. I thought for sure he would be in one of three places. The Starfleet hanger in the beginning and very end, the Starfleet outpost on “Hoth” lol, or in the engineering section of the Enterprise.

  16. starfrancis says:

It sounds partially when the crew touch some buttons and controls on the bridge.
    It´s great!

  17. Ranma says:

Go R2, I hope he got paid!

  18. Draco says:

This is absurd. SW isn’t even sci-fi!

There’s no point in crossing/comparing them to ANY extent.. ¬¬

  19. Ti4019 says:

I found em. Hard to spot, well hidden but in plain sight actually.
That’s not all I Found, but this time we went to the movie specifically to find easter eggs like this.

  20. Sara says:

    I FOUND HIM!!!! BOOYA!

  21. gof says:

omg. no way got to see it again might see it after last day of school. is he in the part when they were discussing the battle plan. need to see it. also ask me a star wars question on star wars episode ii. i know like every thing about starships.

  22. go USA says:

wrong. VERY VERY wrong. stupid star trek crap. only LOSERS mix STAR WARS ans star trek.

  23. Runi, AKA Darth Invidia, the twilek sith apprentice who has a longer name than anybody else says:

what!? that is just wrong! how could george lucas do this to us!?!?!?!?!

  24. Eric says:

Star Trek sucks even with R2 in it

  25. Thunderchin says:

There are in fact two YT-1300 freighters in the opening battle of First contact. Isn’t George Takei, the guy who did Sulu in the series, voice Lott Durd in the Clone Wars animated series? Sure sounds like him.

  26. kevin says:

Bet my smart alec nephew Scoot has seen it .

  27. Mel says:

Are people really whining about combining Star Wars and Star Trek? What is this, Kindergarten? A lot of sci-fi fans like both franchises; pitting the two against one another is very juvenile, and hasn’t been respectable since the around 1990. Time to grow up, children.

Putting R2-D2 in Star Trek is just for fun anyways. I’ll have to look for him when I see the movie again. ^_^

  28. Deanna says:

    :) cool.

  29. Kathy says:

And David Letterman mixes them up….. (If you saw when Nimoy did the Top Ten list)

  30. Robert says:

I didn’t like the movie itself, but this R2 appearance might merit a second viewing from me LOL. Now I know why the Trekkies want J.J. Abrams’ head on a plate: he’s apparently sneaking in too many SW references in the film. But what’s wrong with that, anyways? He’s on our side!

P.S. Chris Pine also said in an interview that he was channeling Han Solo when he was rehearsing as Kirk, but that’s another story entirely…

  31. David W. says:

I probably won’t get to see the movie but if I do, where is he? Several guys who posted on here say they saw him. Come on, tell! ;)

  32. Mike says:

In Episode I, as Watto and Qui-Gon enter the junk yard, just to the right of the sit the pod from 2001. Not a Star Trek/Star wars things . . . but still cool.

  33. gof says:

did anyone ask me a question on starships come on any one?

  34. gof says:

    gdgfdgfgfgfgbfgfgfgfgfgfgfgfgfgfgfgfgh

  35. gof says:

    bakugan rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  36. Mine says:

I’ve seen it 4 times! 3 in Imax and I still haven’t found that little droid!

  37. I dont think it is a good idea to combine star wars with star trek. I feel like they are taking credit of some of that material from star wars.

  38. I only needed to see the movie one time to find R2-D2. He is in plain sight, but I dont want to spoil it even though it only took a sec. to find.

  39. Im getting worried, star trek sucks to me but they already made toys of them. Next thing you know, they will start making LEGO products, sell posters and action figures to invade Star Wars turf. And if that happens, there will be a chance that finding something from Star Wars will be ancient history. Kinda like when the Republic failed to defeat the Comfederency. By the way I am mostly a fan of the Sepritists and the Empire so when the Republic failed, it was a BIG victrory for me, but not for my friends.

  40. Krash says:

Well, just another reason to go see Star Trek again! (awesome!!!)

  41. Bored Fan says:

No wonder that Star Trek is “The next generation’s Star Wars.” Give Him Back You Trekkies : D

Oh yes and George Takei is in the Clone Wars

  43. Bumuhaha says:

what? i am an extreme (if you can call me that) star wars fan and star trek and star wars should only mix if they are kicking the crap out of each others fleets in a battle to the death. I never saw R2 in the new star trek movie (yes i did watch it, but it did kick major butt [only because of Lucasarts]) and I havent watched previous trekkie films, but if we are going to mix these dimensions then there needs to be a movie where they find each other. Consider it SW Episode 10 or so. (because you have to make movies showing lukes marriage, death, the empire reborn, the thrawn trilogy, there needs to be movies involving all of that) Honestly though ST 2009 was great, but SW and ST shouldnt mix. Except in another movie…. : )

  44. go USA says:

star trek fans are the ones who have ruined sci-fi fandom 4 EVERYONE. true STAR WARS fans hate that star trek crap. NEVER MIX YOUR SCIENCE FICTION!

  45. Mr. Spock says:

Star trek fans have not ruined si-fi fandom and I don’t think it’s a bad thing to like both wars and trek. Star Trek: Happy 43rd birthday! Star Wars: Happy 32nd birthday

  46. Ssshhadow says:

Some people are just really strange!!!!

I love both Star Trek and Star Wars. In fact I am bordering on fanatical about them both.

….but for goodness sake people, get in the real world, they are just fictional programs there for peoples enjoyment. Small additions such as the one above are done for a bit of fun. If you take it seriously then there is something wrong with you, get a life!!!

…and how the hell have Star Trek fans ruined fandom for everyone? Very odd comment from clearly a very odd individual!

  47. SonofJarJar says:

Meeim is a closet Trekkie! Don’t tell Dada!

  48. George Lucas says:

curse you star trek crap!!!!I agree with go USA
