What a bunch of idiots. If Gene Roddenberry and George Lucas both could meet up amicably and appreciate each other’s work, how come a bunch of nattering fools can’t do the same? What a small and backwards world you must live in to not be able to enjoy both stories. Honestly. Don’t mix your Sci-Fi. What a foolishly stupid thing to say. Don’t mix your Heinlein or Asimov. Stay away from combining Ellison and Orson Scott Card.
Oh, that’s right. You don’t know how to read sci-fi books.

I have been a Star Wars fan since I was very little. I always hated star trek!!!! Star Wars is sooooo much better. If it were not for Mr. Lucas, movies would be very different (in a bad way). I only went to see star trek because of R2 D2 and beacuse I found out it is really Star Wars in disguise!!!! Everything good in that movie is from Star Wars. I guess that is why I sort of liked it. They had to take from the best to try and be the best. STAR WARS RULES!!!!
P.S. can anyone give a hint as to R2’s location?

  5. avatar go USA says:

this is what im talking about. gof is proving my point. thanx.

  6. avatar Ssshhadow says:

So go USA, exactly how is gof proving your point. You are both clearly just rude individuals who insult people in an attempt to do something….what that something is I have no idea, because it is pointless!!!

Seems a silly and childish thing to argue about have you both tried to grow up?

Some people like Star Trek, some people like Star Wars, some people like both and some people like neither. It is all a matter of opinion. That whole mine is better than yours rubbish really is something you both need to try and get over.

  7. avatar Jamjumetley says:

I like both although Star Trek a little more. Here you will find the only existing photo of Gene Roddenberry and George Lucas:

  9. avatar ChrisPUT says:

If it were not for Star Trek, there would be no Star Wars.

  10. avatar gof says:

you know what ssshhadow i just hated him for saying that so you are a rude individual to for saying we have to grow up. cause maybe we made up!

  11. avatar gof says:

draco how is sw not sci-fi i mean its got like star ships that go light speed and weapons that harness the power of light to reflect laser bullets and ray guns plus light speed not even our rocket ships can do that speed. so that is how sw is sci-fi. so never say that sw is not sci-fi

  12. avatar gof says:

go usa i am sorry for saying go f*** yourslf we got someone saying we sould grow up

  13. avatar gof says:

  14. avatar Chris says:

Found it ! Look at Uhura’s blue tooth and you’ll clearly see R2D2.

So is he in it or not? I’m sitting here in Jakarta watching a pirate copy of the new trek and I thought I saw somebody that might be a cameo in a fight scene. I look up Cameos in New Star Trek and run across this whole R2D2 thing. Curiously enough I watched FanBoys just a few days ago. The whole Star Wars vs. Star Trek thing is the best part of the movie – And I guess this thread proves it exists.

My guess is not so I’m starting a new rumor: They say the same word exactly 10 times in both the new Trek and in the original Star Wars – can you figure out which word it is. Hint: It’s the rank of an officer.

  16. avatar AzzaboyJon Uk says:

R2D2 is the worst character in Star Wars ( except for Jar-Jar) who gives a crap whether he’s in Star Trek or not? Lucas lost it a long time ago, a clear example of that was Jango Fett, talk about taking a great character (Boba Fett) and ruining them! Come on, do we really care?

  17. avatar otowi says:

    I found him.

He’s in the scene when Kirk is a kid driving the car – Kirk drives past him and he’s just on the side of the road. Seriously.

  18. avatar Dave says:

Artoo Detoo, also appears as part of the mother ship in Close Encounters and there is a grey Artoo on the pirate ship in The Goonies. Artoo and See Threepio also appear as hyrogliphs in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

  19. avatar Purpura says:

If you go on the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland, and go through the queue line and pay attention to the props and stuff, there is a crate marked Club OBI WAN…

  20. avatar dkd7s says:

Is anyone else starting to suspect that this may be a hoax? I have seen this movie now seven times and the last two times I did nothing but look for R2D2 including in all the places where people said he should be. Until there is an actual result published from this supposed contest I will remain skeptical that it is real.

  21. avatar AzzaboyJon Uk says:

YO! Earth to PURPURA! Indiana Jones comes out of the Club Obi Wan in Temple of Doom! Come on keep up, your supposed to be a fan!

    R2-D2 LOCATION ANSWER (**SPOILER ALERT**)

During the Drill Machine sequence as the Enterprise comes out of its barrel roll amidst destruction of the other Federation ships above Vulcan, we cut to an interior Enterprise bridge over the shoulder of Kirk that is looking out through the front viewscreen. In space, R2-D2 is floating in the debris from about the top middle of the screen to the bottom right.

  23. [...] that the Paramount contest to spot R2-D2 in the new Star Trek film is over, here’s where our beloved astromech can be [...]

  24. avatar Laser Wolf says:

I heard it was when the Enterprise came out of warp in that asteroid field, and R2D2 was floating by. Wanna see it again so I can spot it!

  25. avatar Dave b says:

Ok but did you see the e.t’s in phantom menace ???? There are 3 of them in the cenate

  26. avatar Rob M says:

He is in the film. Right after the Enterprise does a barrel roll near Vulcan. He will be to Pike’s Left on the View Screen

  27. avatar Jed says:

r2d2 can be found at 47:39 by sulus shoulder.
