was kind of disappointed when I found out this wasn't going to be a comic adaptation of NJO... but I usually come around sooner or later. It's too bad that Lucas can't put together a live action TV series of NJO and make it thoughtful, dark and dramatic like Battlestar Galactica/Firefly. If you think about it, all 20 some books could be adapted into 2 part hour long episodes (or some variation) and give us at least 2 or 3 seasons of TV, maybe even 5. Battlestar lasted for five years and it doesn't even have the following of SW. With smart writing, good acting (hire decent actors with depth) and some superb action/CGI, I think it would be a hit. It won't cater to kids though, which I am fine with. Tired of SW being dumbed-down, lower grade scripting and rehashing the same lines for humor... like in the Clone wars animated series.
I will buy Invasion though... cause I'm terrified by the Vong so much.

Are we talking about Star Wars? The movie that challenged the norm, and brought forth a new era in science fiction entertainment? How dare they try to come up with a new take on things, thats different from whats come before! Whats the big deal? Yeah, i'll read it...

The Vong were incredible as a antagonist to the Jedi and were a great change from the the jedi v. sith/empire storylines. The authors actually did some big-boy writing that ended in beloved characters dying (stories had become boring because you knew that no one important was going to die... that's why it blew many fans mind when they actually axed characters.) I don't read comics but I'm almost tempted for this. If they end up coming out with a graphic novel, I'm all over it.

I have to say, I really don't care for the concept behind the NJO. It is way too much like Star Trek (the Vong= organic form of the borg) and Star Wars was the one sci-fi series that wasn't about a single-species invasion threatening Earth/the universe. The NJO destroyed this distinction. Oh well, at least it's not as bad as the Dark Empire series which basically invalidated Anakin's sacrifice and the meaning of Return of the Jedi.

With that being said, the execution of the NJO series was awesome and it was great to see how our heroes reacted to such a threat. I wish the Bantam books had had that kind of direction, instead of totally new characters in each book and no feeling of continuity at all.

Oh yes!!!

Best news out of comic con. I loved NJO it's my favorite era of Star Wars. As long as this series avoids mentioning the LOTF retcon of Vergere then it could replace Legacy as my favorite Star Wars comic :o)

Fantastic! The Yuuzhan Vong Invasion as comics! I'm waiting for this so long. I will (and I mean WILL) buy it. Hope they make it a good series like Legacy.

@Tobar: The series will feature a minor storyline during the invasion and we learn about Kyle's fate not before the end of the series. He could be included in the series. "Equals and Opposites" featured a Kyle-vs.-Vong adventure and I loved it. Kyle could easily come back for the "Invasion" story.

Wohooo NJO rules! *g*
