some great ideas here. my son will be having his second star wars party and with a name like Luke…what else should I expect!!! Another idea that I used last year was to have my son draw pictures of his favorite star wars scenes and we hung them around the house. I also used long balloons and used them in our jedi battle…they were a huge hit and very safe. Thanks again for all the extra ideas.
To add to the great ideas above…
We recently had our first “at home” party for our 6-year old son who LOVES all things Star Wars/Clone Wars. One of the biggest hits was the food and below is what we served – keep in mind EVERYTHING had a matching label on it with the name of the specific food or beverage.
Drinks included – “Moon Juice” (AKA Lemonaid), “Padamay Punch” (AKA Cherry Coolaid), “Warrior Water” (AKA botteled water), and “Jedi Juice” (AKA assorted Adult beverages for the parents).
Food included – “UFO’s” (AKA peproni bagel bites), “MEATeors” (AKA meatballs with pasta sauce”, “Moon Cheese” (AKA Swiss Cheese with holes in it cut into small squares).
In lieu of a cake, my son chose to have everyone make their own bowl of ice cream – their choices included “Chewbacca Chocolate” (AKA Chocolate ice cream), “Vader Vanilla” (AKA vanilla ice cream), and “Solar System Strawberry” (AKA Strawberry ice cream). They could also choose from a number of toppings such as “Clouds” (AKA whip cream), and lots of sprinkles that were shapped like stars and moons and some “Moon Dust” which was chocolate sprinkles.
The kids loved everything and ate like little piggies (we pretty much ran out of food!). And the parents thought it was all very clever!
Here’s what we did for entertaining 60ish adults and kids.
We let the kids (and some adults too) experience “Anti Gravity” on the tramoline in our back yard.
We made a “Moon Walk / Solar System” in our long hallway. This included covering the floor in Bubble Wrap (bought in large rolls at office supply store)to simulate walking on the moon and popping the bubbles just for fun. All the planets were hanging from the ceiling and the walls were covered in Star Wars wrapping paper – all while Star Wars music was playing.
When the kids arrived we had a person at the door putting on Star Wars tatoos. The boys got Clone Wars masks, and the girls got colorful compass rings to “help navagate their way through the solar system”. I purchased the rings at a local party supply store and then added some “bling” by glueing “diamonds” in the middle of each ring.
