some great ideas here. my son will be having his second star wars party and with a name like Luke…what else should I expect!!! Another idea that I used last year was to have my son draw pictures of his favorite star wars scenes and we hung them around the house. I also used long balloons and used them in our jedi battle…they were a huge hit and very safe. Thanks again for all the extra ideas.
To add to the great ideas above…
We recently had our first “at home” party for our 6-year old son who LOVES all things Star Wars/Clone Wars. One of the biggest hits was the food and below is what we served – keep in mind EVERYTHING had a matching label on it with the name of the specific food or beverage.
Drinks included – “Moon Juice” (AKA Lemonaid), “Padamay Punch” (AKA Cherry Coolaid), “Warrior Water” (AKA botteled water), and “Jedi Juice” (AKA assorted Adult beverages for the parents).
Food included – “UFO’s” (AKA peproni bagel bites), “MEATeors” (AKA meatballs with pasta sauce”, “Moon Cheese” (AKA Swiss Cheese with holes in it cut into small squares).
In lieu of a cake, my son chose to have everyone make their own bowl of ice cream – their choices included “Chewbacca Chocolate” (AKA Chocolate ice cream), “Vader Vanilla” (AKA vanilla ice cream), and “Solar System Strawberry” (AKA Strawberry ice cream). They could also choose from a number of toppings such as “Clouds” (AKA whip cream), and lots of sprinkles that were shapped like stars and moons and some “Moon Dust” which was chocolate sprinkles.
The kids loved everything and ate like little piggies (we pretty much ran out of food!). And the parents thought it was all very clever!
Here’s what we did for entertaining 60ish adults and kids.
We let the kids (and some adults too) experience “Anti Gravity” on the tramoline in our back yard.
We made a “Moon Walk / Solar System” in our long hallway. This included covering the floor in Bubble Wrap (bought in large rolls at office supply store)to simulate walking on the moon and popping the bubbles just for fun. All the planets were hanging from the ceiling and the walls were covered in Star Wars wrapping paper – all while Star Wars music was playing.
When the kids arrived we had a person at the door putting on Star Wars tatoos. The boys got Clone Wars masks, and the girls got colorful compass rings to “help navagate their way through the solar system”. I purchased the rings at a local party supply store and then added some “bling” by glueing “diamonds” in the middle of each ring.
What great ideas for a Star Wars birthday theme! I love the bubble wrap “moon walk” activity that the previous post shared. Adorable!

We made Lightsaber Jello for our son’s 5th birthday! It was a hit!

I can just image my Son (and his Dad) running around at his 5th Birthday party with his Lightsaber causing havoc.
This is a good idea. We actually let all the kids make light sabers from old wrapping paper rolls we had saved and then wrapped them in solid color paper and they had a blast. I wish i would have seen this pinata idea! We had a star wars cake and star wars music playing the whole time.
We had our 5 yrs Star Wars themed Bday Party and made light sabers out of pool noodles. We go them at the dollar store and cut them in half and taped the ends with silver and black duck tape for the handles. They still play with them a year later!!
For my daughter’s(4years old) star wars birthday we will be having chinese food with lightsaber chop sticks. Lightsaber hotdogs(for our picky eaters) Dark side coffee and tea, Yoda soda. And I am making a3D R2-D2 cake. Our goodie bags have nerf guns(blasters) and bubble wands(lightsabers). I am still planning things in my head and will post anything post worthy!
The idea of Star Wars Birthday Party is very impressive. Thanks for sharing information.
My son will be 7 on the 2nd day of August, and this is his second Star Wars theme party! This is the first time reading this blog and I love it! I made his Star Wars Lego theme invitations by using a template online and then editing all the party info in my photo program..very cool and was pretty easy! I have four different size boxes wrapped in sold colors with covered plastic lids from peanut butter jars on them. He wants a death star cake, and so I am making a death star pinata out of a punching balloon in paper mache filled with squirt guns ,jawbreakers, and little oreo cookie snack packs. I am going to use matching labels for the drinks, & food from the idea posted above(Nice idea)! The party is being held in a park so…destroying the Death Star will be our highlight of the force.
My husband had a star wars party a few years ago. All of our friends came. I changed all the light bulbs in the house to black lights. I played star wars music when my husband walked in. (it was a surprise bday party). I also played the star wars movies throughout the entire party.
My birthday is this weekend and the weekend after that me and a couple of other friends from school are going to see the Phantom Menace in 3D in theaters. Before we go we will braid some of our hair behind our ears to make a padawan braid and we will bring my chewbacca plush toy (45 cm.), R2D2 plush (10cm),and Darth Vader plush (12 cm.). It will be a blast!
I am serving those Yoda sodas.
Thanks for that idea
Sincerely yours, Yzabelle Amidala
There should be a game where your a Mandalorian with a light saber the story could be about the Mandalorian war
My daughter’s name is Leia so of course this is going to be her first birthday party theme. Since all her friends are older they are going to be the jedi’s off to save the princes. They’ll follow clues to find her, she’ll be in costume and so will her father – Darth Vadar, whom they will have to defeat in order to save her.
her sister is older and so are the other kids so even though she’s just a prop
I think it’s still going to be great. Thanks for all the ideas for food and what not. She may not remember turning one but everyone else will.
For more ideas check out Starwars on the Pinterest site. There is a fun one making a Death Star out of round watermelon.
We had the kids do a Jedi Training program, it all started with dressing up as Jedis, bit of face painting some battle wounds! Then some warning up in our disco, with some Star Wars Statues. They then did Jedi Poses with some inflatable light sabers. at the end they received a Jedi Graduation Certificate from the Birthday Boy. They had a great time!
My preschool just did a Star Wars day today. I printed the Darth Vader masks and made them the costumes out of black plastic tableclothes and silver duct tape. They turned out awesome. I also made light sabers out of the pool noodles and duct tape and electrical tape with circle stickers for the buttons. They turned out awesome. Thanks for all the fantastic ideas will be doing this again it was a hit.
About Yoda, when he said in Star wars episode 2: “Much to learn You still have” And in the episode 6 he was 900 years old, so is there a chance to make a movie of Yoda maybe at least 3 parts?? Just curious…
(Big fan of Kotor 1 , 2 and also Force Unleashed 1, 2 Games )
