R2-D2 is the Best Roomie Ever

April 30, 2008

Sure R2-D2 doesn’t cook or make a mean margarita, or screen your calls, or even pay rent; but he has a knack for turning your living room into a deluxe movie theater or gaming-on-the-ceiling arcade. He even plays all the songs on your iPod so you can invite the neighbors over for a dance party!

If you haven’t been drooling over the R2-D2 Digital Audio and Video Projector yet, perhaps this techno-saturated, R2-D2 as a supermodel, demo video will do the trick.

[...] newVideoPlayer(”r2projector_gizmodo.flv”, 494, 292,””); We knew that there was a motorized, fully-articulated R2-D2 projector with built-in DVD, iPod dock, all kinds of digital media inputs, and Millennium Falcon remote control, but we never—EVER—imagined it would be so amazingly drooltastic as this video shows. Time to put on your LEGO-made Han Solo jacket or Leia bikini, and buy this thing—because after watching it in action, I don’t care about the lack of Full HD support: this thing is absolutely I must have, caress, fondle, and lick all over material. Reaching nerdgasm, however, still costs $2,800. [Star Wars Blog] [...]

Can LFL start up some sort of grant program so fans can have a chance to actually own one of these? :)

I want one so bad, but that’s a lot of money. A reasonable price, considering, but still a lot of money!

    Hi!

Love it, but the video I saw on gizmodo says HD gaming with PS3. yet the resolution is 1024X768! that is a far cry from HD even 720P!

Yeah. the R2D2 Kicks. Ass. I think everyone should get a personal R2 to follow them around. For the price of $2,995 that will be a little bit steep for the pocket book. A fair price would be in $100 – $1000 range based on the limited capabilities of the R2 specs. If Princess Leia was part of the package.. I would mind paying the full meal deal for this. I can’t wait to make the all girls jealous at my new toy especially Meghan.
This will beat her Mustang any day.
