Harrison Ford Compares Han to Indy
April 17, 2008
USA Today briefly chats with actor Harrison Ford about the start of his film career and how he thinks Han Solo and Indy differ as characters.
He gives “no credit to the culture for embracing (Han) as a hero. He’s dumb as a stump! He’s certainly got a good heart, but I think he’s certainly a much less interesting character than Indiana Jones. The breadth of his story utility was never extensive. He was the foil between the other more compelling elements of the film. There’s not breadth of character to explore beyond what we got out of him.”

I’d say he’s pretty much right, but there are alot of aspects that are interesting and would have been interesting to have seen in the prequels or in the upcoming TV series, like how he ended up tagging along with a Wookiee.

han solo was the space cowboy! he is charming in that he is the guy every young boy looks up to. solo character was on the verge of understanding the bigger picture and not the self centered character he was but the charater he was becoming! to help the rebelion and to be closer to the princess.
