Ray Park as Snake Eyes
March 21, 2008USA Today and /film update today with the first images of Ray “Darth Maul” Park as Snake Eyes in the upcoming G.I. Joe live action movie. As part of a generation essentially sculpted by the ’80s toylines of Hasbro, you’ll excuse me if I spend the rest of my morning on the floor of my office playing with my toys. Congrats, Ray!

I can’t believe he looks as good as he does. Good Job guys.

I KNEW he’d be chosen for the role. I only wish they wouldn’t water down the rest of the whole G.I.Joe story and origin because of “political sensitivities.”

I don’t think this story will be watered down. Some of the early complaints were based on an earlier script. I read one review of the shooting script that described the movie as “a gift to GI Joe fans.”
Yeah, things will be a little different, but it’s a different world than it was 25 years ago. But this picture along with the fact that Larry Hama - writer of the comic books for Marvel and the file cards for the toys - is a creative consultant makes me supremely confident that my but will be parked in a seat on opening night.
And, BTW, Ray Park was the ONLY choice for Snake Eyes….

G.I. Joe rocks! And Ray Park will have the best roll ever

Geez, Ray Park is so made of awesome, that guy is pure sexiness AND he manages to create a very convincing Snake Eyes already. I hope that for once we will see the real Ray Park and not just the mask >_<

I think that this is going to be a worthwhile feature.

the picture of snake eyes speaks a million words. ray had no speaking scenes in phantom menace and still manged to leave a wonderful mark on starwars fans. He will do the same with gi joe.

Ray Park is an excellent choice as Snake Eyes!! Cant wait to see who fills the rest of the GI Joe crew! Im so there on opening night!!

I can’t think of anyone else I would rather see in this role. I know that a lot of Star Wars fans believe that Darth Maul should have been a bigger role than it was. The fact that he died sucks. They should have let him live to mess with Obi one later on down the story line.

OMG… i heard it yesterday in the paper. as a G.I.JOE Fan i cant wait. but i remember seeing a movie poster of it and i know of some others who be in it

First Darth Maul, than Toad, and now Snake Eyes. Awesome!!
“Soon, we will reveal ourselves, to the Jedi. Soon we will have revenge.” Yep….he said it.

@Big Daddy Hollywood: If you want to know about who has been cast as the other characters, you should check out the G.I. Joe entry on IMDb.com.
And regarding playing on the floor with toys, was I the only one who mixed my Star Wars Kenner figures with the Joes for one epic battle against the combined forces of evil? Oh, that wasn’t just me…. *phew*

According to the movie, it is now G.I.J.O.E. (Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity) and no longer G.I. Joe (Government Issue Joe). Apparently being American isn’t good enough, or at least it won’t make enough money at the international box office.
