Great stuff, especially the PLEX trooper & Kenobi in armor (reminds me of the stormtrooper-with-lightsaber McQuarrie art). But what’s up with the notch in Artoo’s eyepiece? I noticed it back when the trailer first came out… sorta weird…
They look absolutely amazing. Kudos to the designers! I especially love the design of the PLX-1, I’ve been waiting for one forever! Can’t wait for Captain Rex. Great Job!
Which figures have the proof of purchases in them to get Rex?
The figures look good, but i can’t say that I like the force firing thing. Makes the figures look awkward and easy to lose if you don’t want to keep it loaded.
I think they look cool, but i agree with sporky. The force firing thing makes them look, for lack of a better word, awkward.
To release 3 3/4 inch Star Wars figures for a major event/line in the animated style is slap in the face of all fans who have been collecting for years. I understand Hasbro wants to make the figures recognizeable for children (who ARE the main focus of toys), although I don’t see even the stupidest children having much trouble recognizing the “normal versions” of these iconic characters. Especially if that is all that is available. The old Kenner figures didn’t always look all that close to their movie counterparts and that never kept anyone from buying or playing with them.
The only way this can be rectified, is if Hasbro at least releases “realistic style” versions of Clone Wars characters that have not been made in this style yet. Asoka, Captain Rex and the young Hutt etc.
Yeah, I would like to buy the realistic versions just like the hunt for greivous battle pack.
why did they make yoda look stupid? looks to me like they could have done a lot better.
rex is a lot like the red arc clone leader from the old clone wars cartoon.

This is just what MY collection needs, something refreshing, not the same old stale “let’s resculpt this character for the 50th time” figures.

I agree with QelDroma, and I think that this is just what star wars needs.
This is the style they chose EXCLUSIVELY for the clone wars, and you, Patrick Murphey, need to respect all the work they put into creating the animated series.
They finally made a grevious that looks more like the clones wars animated one!!! sweet! He needs a cape and if he doesnt come with one i will probably end up making my own. I also think it would be cool if they made a 10 peice fully posable clone trooper set cause finding troopers at the stores is hard. i have to resort to ebay. They got to be fully posable and with removable helmits. I hate stiff posed ones and removable helmits is a such a nice touch.
Also every time i go to the store i see a million no name crappy alien guys or naboo soldiers and i can never find clone soldiers except the winter troopers. they should make a greater number of clone soldiers available in thier assortments and less crappy alien guys or no name crappy soldiers. The purple winter soldier sucks. who makes a soldier where purple in the winter, they would stick out like a sore thumb. the white ones look cool.
Personally, I think the figures look cool, except for the whole force thing it does make the figures look kinda weird. it’s also adding a fresh, new look to Star Wars. Who knows, change can be a good thing. Bottom line: I can’t wait to get my hands on the whole line!
well, they make certain numbers of certain figures, and usually I wait a bit until everyone’s gotten their fill, because that’s when I start seeing them on shelves again. I’m happy with the Captain Rex that I sent away for, and I’ll get the PLX trooper when able.

I never said that they don’t look good. I also have no interest in the 50th version of Anakin or other main characters as “QelDroma” put it. That is why I said at least the ones that have not yet been done. A side line of animated figures is fine, since it does bring some variety. I would just like some consistency in the main line. So, what would everyone say if all of a sudden Hasbro switched to 7 inch scale figures for the live action series and stopped producing 3 3/4 inch figures all together. Still great for variety?
Oh, and “Monkey In The Closet”, I do respect the work they’ve put into the animated series. I also respect the work they’ve done on the whole line these past years. It is beyond what anyone thought possible in 1995.
I just would very much like to add the new characters from the animated series to my collection in a way that they MATCH with my OTHER figures!

Ok, I apologize. It WOULD be nice if they “re-made” the new clones like captain rex in the original clone molds. BUT, since that’s not likely to happen until the end of the animated series, I suggest you make due with the current clones. To be honest, the clones and battle droids haven’t changed much,
and since I’m not interested much with anything else (except the R2 series astro-droids), it really isn’t a problem for me.

No, there probably won’t be a Durge in the first wave, but who knows? there might be a Durge coming up. Durge played quite a role in the clone wars, so you can’t really have the clone wars without Durge.

Okay, okay….. I am going to see The Clone Wars in theaters when it is released. However, I WILL NOT be buying most of these figures. I don’t condem Hasbro for their choice to make the characters look “animated.” I am just confused with alot of the story that will be told. It seems that many things that we know to be canon in the Star Wars universe, is GREATLY contridicted in this version.
For one, “Captain” Rex is the WRONG color for a captain. He should be RED, (such as Captain Fordo) and not BLUE. Blue is the color that signify’s a Lieutenant’s rank.
Second, why does Anakin have a padawan??? I understand how she fits in the crux of the story, but it is forbidden for him to train another while he is under the tutelage of another. The only other known to have done this was Darth Sidious. When he was Darth Plagueis’ apprentice, he was also traing his apprentice Darth Maul.
I see that Anakin appears to not be a padwan anymore, but if that is the case, then how can this series really encompass the ENTIRE Clone Wars??? This means that battles that were fought chronologically should be ommitted. Such as Muunilist, Kamino, Jabiim, Dantooine, Mon Calamari to name a few. Not to mention Anakin’s showdown on Yavin 4 against Asajj Ventress. This also means that we SHOULDN”T see Obi-Wan get captured along with Alpha 17 by Asajj either. Hmmmm………
well, considering the fact that Captain Rex is part of the 501st, of course he’s going to be blue. Also, don’t worry about all that stuff. it’ll be explained soon enough. please calm down.

Hey i’m just saying. But you should know that the 501st was offically designated as a legion a year after the Battle of Geonosis. Palpatine commisioned them shortly after the new recruits were sent to Coruscant, and took only the best fighters from said battle. So if he is in the 501st, he should also be wearing a Phase 2 trooper’s armor. As the the Phase 1 armor was scrapped after a year use because of it “uncomfortability” and lack of protection.
I’m a stickler for details. What can I say! I won’t let it ruin my viewing expirience, just limiting my action figure selection. That’s all. Plus I really am not all that keane on the force firing mechanism on them. But to each his own…..

I think it’s great that Star Wars will get a refreshing. I am a big Star Wars fan and I will so much from Star Wars what is possible. And I have many Star Wars Action Figures so I think it’s great that the Action Figures will get a refreshing. And, with The Force Unleashed, the new Clone Wars serie and a Celebration in Japan, 2008 will be a great year for me and for all the Star Wars fans. Star Wars forever!

I think peyton has some good points. I mean anakin having a padwan is messed up.
Now that I look at it, the Force effect doesn’t really look at all that great…kinda takes me back to the episode II figures…I didn’t like those all too much…I like poseability.
payton the film is set is set in the CLONE WARS not exactly episode 2 nor episode 3 it is set in between so alot was in the 1st armour payton and if you look the 1st animation seiries they fight in the 1st seen armour they you only see the armour in the second seiries because it kick starts episode 3 im just saying peyton if imwrong im sorry i just cant cant wait for the movie/seiries
Yeah I know that. but it doesn’t matter whether you have watched the Cartoon Network series or read the novel Labyrinth of Evil, the armor changes from Phase 1 to Phase 2. You’ll notice in the third season of the cartoon, during the Battle of Coruscant, that Captain Fordo is no longer wearing his ARC trooper armor. Instead he has a Commander Neyo esque Phase 2 armor with Jaig eyes from his heroics on Hypori. (he is the one getting overrun by super battle droids and calls for reinforcments.) And if you look at any of the clones after Anakin has his jedi trials, they are all donning Phase 2 armor.
I really am not trying to get anyone upset with anything that I have said in this forum. I am just wondering what everyone else thinks. I am very glad to hear that so many of us are looking forward to this new horizon in the Star Wars Saga. I was only trying to drum up debate. Because this series IS worth talking about. And I can’t wait to see it on opening night!!!! Should be a BLAST!!!!!

Yes. It is actually the the second DVD. It has chapters 21-25. The first DVD is comprised of both season 1 and 2.(chapters 1-20)
