Wow! It’s been an amazing summer but the wait is FINALLY over! Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season Five premieres this Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. (EST/PST) on Cartoon Network. I had the privilege of attending a special screening last week in San Francisco of the first two episodes of the new season! It’s definitely incredible to watch our show on the big screen. For a full recap of that screening, make sure to read this previous post on the Star Wars Blog! Thank you to all of the fans who came, and here are some more photos from the screening!
Obi-Wan Kenobi once said, “In my experience, there’s no such thing as luck.” Maybe he was wrong. The Clone Wars Season Five doesn’t begin until this Saturday, but some select fans have already seen the first two episodes—on the big screen—and had the opportunity to ask the show’s creators questions about the series’ past, present, and future. Sounds pretty lucky.
On Friday, September 21, a small group of Star Wars fans were invited to Lucasfilm’s Premier Theater and treated to a special screening of the first two episodes of the upcoming season of The Clone Wars, ”Revival” and “A War on Two Fronts.” A post-screening Q&A moderated by Lucasfilm’s Pablo Hidalgo followed, featuring supervising director Dave Filoni, producer Cary Silver, and actress Ashley Eckstein, who portrays Padawan Ahsoka Tano on the show; the talk covered everything from stories about the show’s production to the themes of Star Wars, but the group first discussed what it was like seeing the episodes in a theater with fans.
Many of you have already seen snippets of my video diary from Star Wars Celebration VI right here on the blog, but as promised, I am excited to share with you my final video diary from the entire event! With over 20 minutes of brand new footage, I take you with me behind the scenes and show you what happened from my point of view. I’m definitely a visual person and I’ve never been good at keeping a written diary, so I grabbed my camera and decided to capture the event documentary-style for everyone to see! You’ll go with me behind the scenes before our Clone Wars panel and press conference, come with me on the red carpet at the Clone Wars Season 5 premiere, watch our Her Universe photo shoot, see what happens when I try to fight with a lightsaber right handed (I’m left handed so I’m sure you can imagine how that turned out) and see what happens when I try and get Season 5 secrets out of Dave Filoni!
The time leading up to each Star Wars Celebration is an incredible adrenaline buzz, for me and I’m sure for hundreds of other people who are involved in the show – getting ready for the stages, finishing their fan exhibit, or completing their costume for the masquerade. There is so much to do that it’s the main focus of life – of my life certainly.
Hello Star Wars Friends,
I’m sorry it has been so long since my last blog. When I am away from the office as long as I was for Star Wars Celebration VI, there is always a lot to catch up on when I get back. I can now say that everything is pretty much back up to speed and The Clone Wars is moving forward, bigger and better than ever.
