If you are a fan of Star Wars comics, the panel to be at on Thursday of Star Wars Celebration was the Dark Horse comics panel. The panel featured some of the best talent that Dark Horse has to offer including John Jackson Miller, Jan Duursema, Doug Wheatley, Dave Marshall, and Randy Stradley and was hosted by expert in all things Star Wars, Pablo Hidalgo.
A sushi chef from Japan, Okitsugu Kado, is also well known for his talent in vegetable carving. Oki started creating intricate Star Wars vegetable pieces after making his very first simple R2-D2. His vast amount of talent and love for his art got him on the cover of the UK edition of National Geographic with his very own Darth Vader carrot carving. Oki’s love of Star Wars goes far beyond vegetables. He is a part of the Jedi Order Japan, which now has 70 members, and took part in Star Wars Celebration Japan.
So with the once every two-years interstellar party that is a Star Wars Celebration kicking off with fans coming from all over (the galaxy…) to Orlando, Florida, one group in particular plays a very prominent, recurring, all-volunteer role in helping to make Star Wars come to life. Among all the featured events, guests, panels, and fan-experiences, any major Star Wars fan knows they have to keep their eyes open for representatives from Lord Vader’s personal detachment of Imperial Troops: the 501st Legion.
