Check out this impressive Star Wars themed Ke$ha “Tik Tok” music video spoof by the talented fans Eddie King and Tyler Marshall!

Darth Vader Rides Cat into Battle

StarWars.com Team | March 2, 2010

We’re not sure who to pat on the back for making this awesome photo happen, but we had our suspicions that Darth Vader was indeed a cat person from the start.

Thanks to Eliza Henshaw for letting us know about it!

A Little Jedi Therapy on My Life As Liz

StarWars.com Team | March 2, 2010

Our favorite MTV Jedi — Liz Lee — is back with another awesome episode of My Life As Liz! This time in her opening monologue she ponders the awkwardness that was the Luke-Leia sibling kiss, how that applies to her current weirdness with her feelings for Bryson who rejected her prom date offer.

Liz also mentions how “A little Jedi therapy goes a long way” — as in the lightsaber battle with her best friend Sully. We couldn’t agree more! By the way, did we mention how impressed we are with the lightsaber moves? Most impressive indeed!

NASA to Send C-3PO to the Moon?

StarWars.com Team | February 26, 2010

Is it just us or does NASA’s robot look a little like our favorite protocol droid C-3PO? Here’s hoping they give him better coping skills.

According to AmericaSpace:

Project M is a JSC Engineering Directorate led mission to put a lander on the moon with a robot within a 1,000 days starting Jan 1, 2010. “M” has significance in two ways. First, it is the Roman numeral for 1,000. And “M” is the first letter for “Moon.”

Lucasfilm Chimes in on Ackbar Mascot

StarWars.com Team | February 26, 2010

Earlier in the week we blogged about University of Mississippi hoping to replace their old school mascot with none other than Admiral Ackbar, and now finally we’ve given an official statement about our beloved Mon Calamari as a possible mascot.

New York Times reports:

While a student committee to propose a new mascot is still in the early stages of formation, Lucasfilm, which produced the Star Wars movies, has given a (tongue-in-cheek) endorsement to Ackbar’s candidacy. In a statement, the studio said:

Lucasfilm is flattered that our Star Wars fans at the University of Mississippi are considering electing Admiral Ackbar as their mascot. The last time we checked in with Admiral Ackbar he was leading the Rebel Alliance Fleet on a critical mission so it will be difficult for him to show up for the games!

Ole Miss Mon Calamari Mascot?

Ole Miss Mon Calamari Mascot?

StarWars.com Team | February 24, 2010

University of Mississippi is looking for a new on-field mascot and they have their eye on Admiral Ackbar. While some fans think it might be “a trap,” students are very serious in their quest to replace their old mascot Colonel Reb with the beloved Mon Calamari.

According to the site urging for his promotion — Notatrap.org:

We here at Notatrap are in full support of Admiral Ackbar for the new Mascot for the Ole Miss Rebels. Who wants a Colonel when you could have an Admiral?

There’s also a flyer to download in case you want to show your support.
