Star Wars vs. Saul Bass

The opening credits to Star Wars are already burned into the brains of fans across the galaxy — but we can’t help but love this reimagining of those credits if done by the legendary graphic designer and Academy Award-winning filmmaker Saul Bass. His animated fillm intros were used by iconic directors Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick and Martin Scorsese.

If you’ve seen the intros to Otto Preminger’s films The Man with the Golden Arm and An Anatomy of a Murder, or intros to Hitchcock’s classics Vertigo or Psycho then you know Bass’ stuff.

One fan decided to let both his love for Star Wars and Saul Bass inspire a design assignment with the end result being a jazzy A New Hope intro with the Bass touch.
